I have an HP tablet pc and it overheats like crazy. :( Im planning to replace the fan but I am wondering what would be a great fan to buy to keep it cool (or less hot) especially one that doesn't make a loud noise.

Also, I'm somewhat new to computers so I am wondering if there are different kines of fans for specific computers (ie tablet pc). And if so, where do I find which fan to use?

Are you sure that the fan is the problem? It could be a heatsink clogged with dust that just needs to be cleaned. If your fan does need to be replaced you will be limited in what you can replace it with, as the location of screw holes and the size itself is probably proprietary to HP and another manufacturers fan will probably not fit (although a fan from a different HP model might). When I have had to replace fans I usually just hop onto eBay and pick one up new there, however, you could call up and order one directly from HP I imagine.

Unless the fan is broken probably not much you can do to make it better as unlike desktops that have tons of fans that range in various performance and noise levels chances are for a laptop your stuck with what it comes with or maybe something different that wll perform about the same.

Dust it out for sure if it needs it, make sure you dont clog any of the vents while its in use and maybe look into a cooling pad.
