going to australia for a month in june, what do i need to do to be able to charge my laptop? im also taking a pda and two mp3 players that will need power.

You just need to buy the right power converter. Radio Shack will have what you need.

Look at the power brick and see if the input voltage has a range of like 100 - 240 volts. If it does then you only need the correct adapter to make the plug fit in the receptacles in Australia. I believe they are called V-shape flat, whereas your power brick is parallel flat. But do a Google search to be sure.
If your power brick does not have that range then you will also need a transformer to reduce the 240 volts in Australia to the 110/120 that we use here in the USA.
