    Hi,

I am considering to buy a speaker system for my notebook for two reason:
    1. I want to enjoy better syound quality from my music.
    2. The speakers on my notebook have long died.

I found a lot of review online for a compact yet decent speaker systems, and I have narrowed my search into 3 systems: Creative Gigaworks T20 (or T40), Harman Kardon Soundsticks II, Bose Companion 2.

Please give me some advices as well as share your experiences.

    Thanks

Personally, although expensive, I've found Bose to make really really good speakers.

I'm not sure of your budget, or the size of system you want. Personally I wouldn't go for anything less that a 2.1 system. Out of all the 2.1 systems I've tried, the Klipsch Pro Media is a really nice one IMO. If your want anything smaller than a 2.1 system I just say get headphones, but thats me.

I can afford any of these listed.

2.1 is what I was looking for initially, but the Gigaworks and the Companion are said to give good bass without the sub woofer.

I think none of these have remote.

Remote is hard to find in a 2.1 system.

Bose is really overpriced, but those tiny speakers can give us some amazement. I remember my friend who owns a pair of Bose said that "how can those things reproduce sound so well?"

Another option I want to add to my collection is the Creative I-trigue 3000. It has a subwoofer. It looks very nice and elegant. And the only thing that draws me back is that why it is cheaper than the non-subwoofer gigaworks ones.

My budget is $110 for speakers, but I don't want to spend too much money on it, so let say I am willing to pay $80.

I want to state this again that my main interest is music (symphony, and rock and roll).

One more thing, is there anyone who can provide me the different between Creative gigaworks, and i-trigue?
