Im getting a logitech g5 probably tomorow or sometime soon but i dont understand how people can play with 2000dpi...i know its like, sensitivity but apparently the slightest movement can make your mouse go all the way to the other end of the screen.
How is this a good thing if you are playing hardcore tactical fps games like Counter Strike? wouldnt you miss the head like 50 times?
i dont know if im missing something here but i am a noob at mice, just want a better one than my laptop wireless that glitches alot
-
Actually it depends compltely on the person, the Logitech G5 is a mouse generally for "high sensitivity" users. They (myelf) like to be able to move the pointer across the screen bye moving the mouse only an inch or less. If you are more of a low sensitivity player then Steelseries is for you, if your inbetween a Razer Deathadder may do you well.
-
Well i heard you can adjust the dpi and such. so it would be very useful instead of just having hardcore low sens. i want to experiment between dpi to see which is best
-
some ppl prefer faster response than accuracy. for example if you're playing online death match style game you want to be able to look around the surrounding in an instant whereas if you're playing a traditional single player FPS like CoD4 you may want lower sensitivity but higher accuracy but even then i find myself raising the sensitivity since i like to know what's going on around me as soon as it happens.
-
Its actually the opposite of what you said. With increased resolution aka dpi, the slightest movement translates into better accuracy and tracking not greater jumps or larger movements across the screen. You'll get the increased precison needed for FPS games etc.
-
oh i was talking about sensitivity in game not dpi.

You're making good choices Jedi...
8400GT
Sony
Now the G5
Me and you should get marrie... uh... open a bakery.
Yeah. A bakery. -
i have the razer lachesis, and just for normal use(web browsing, etc.) i have it set at 2500. usually for games i turn it down to 2000. but at 2500 i find it normal after i got used to it. but whenever someone uses my comp they alwas complain about not being able to click on something because the cursor keeps moving.
-
Well, I have the G5, and it does have "on-the-fly" DPI switching, so if your running and gunning across the map, you can use a higher sensitivity, and when your camping.. looking for heads, you can use a lower sensitivity.
-
Ok so let me get something straight.
DPI is different that sensitivity? as someone explained
High DPI = more accuracy
High Sensitivity= slight movement translates into big cursor movement?
Is this what really happens? Or am i still misunderstanding lol -
If I'm not mistaken, a higher DPI setting translates into lower perceived sensitivity. Could be mistaken, though - it -does- get a little confusing.

Yes that is correct miscolobo.
the thing about 2000 dpi mice..
