I'm getting a clevo p170em/sager np9170 and I was wondering if it would fit in this backpack:

    H.A.L. Backpack - Timbuk2 Bags

I've heard that it can fit an alienware m17x so I think the clevo should fit.

Can someone confirm that this backpack would fit a p170em or m17x?

    Thanks

    How big is that laptop?

    I've tried older Fujitsu Xa2528 in my bag, from spec sheet it's dimensions are 399mm (W) x 299mm (D) x 33.0mm/39.5mm (back).

It fits in nicely. You can find some pics I took from mine last summer.

Altouch I carry daily a 12" laptop and lots of other stuff in mine, it's nice to have extra room if needed.

If an 8690 fits then I'm pretty sure a 9170 will too. When you say it fits, you mean in the laptop compartment right? That was probably implied but I want to make sure.

    Thanks

I can fit two laptops into the compartment (8510w and 2530p both) without trouble and room to spare.

I looked up the dimensions for those laptops and they should be 2.09" thick together. I guess the compartment is bigger than advertised. I think this is a good indication that my p170em will fit.

    Thanks

Yes, it extends inwards especially if the laptop isn't full 17". That actual measure is probably taken at the very ends of the compartment.

I actually have my friend's laptop here right now, HP dv7-2100 series. Both that and the 2530p fit in the compartment together and it closes without problems. So a 16.x incher should fit in nicely.
