This is the never stopping error that keeps popping up in the lower right of my taskbar on my desktop complete with the sound of a device bieng plugged in. I had been using the logitech nano mouse since Christmas with no problems. (the one with the super tiny usb plug) and it stopped working today right after a windows defender update. I have tried restoring to an earlier time and also tried reinstalling the software that came with it and I have also flashed my BIOS with the recent hp update for my new Pavillion d v4 1120us.I have treid going into device manager and deleting the mouse so that it can reinstall its drivers. None of this has helped. My iphone and cooling fan still work and the error only stops after a reboot. Why wont my mouse work anymore? I dont neccessarily mind a complete reformat but if I don't know what caused this, it could happen again.

    Please help. Thank you

Did you try the mouse adapter in a different USB port ?

Does the error has a code ? Look at the Event viewer and see if you can find out the problem.
