Hello,
I am looking for a usb3 docking station that can handle 2560x1080 of my LG ultra wide monitor (29EA73-P) and can handle two monitors. Further it would be great to have also ac adapter to charge notebooks/ultrabooks. The latter is not too important but would be great to have.
Does anybody have an idea? The docks i found, like from i-tec, did not support that resolution for the LG.
Thanks!

I forgot: the second monitor is happy with a smaller res at 1280x1024

USB 3 "docking stations" don't support charging like true docks do.

The problem with those sort of "docking stations" is that the extra power on the station is for powering the USB ports on the dock, not to charge the laptop.
Also, I have my doubts that a USB-based dock can actually run two 1080p displays. At least not very well. -
I have yet to see a USB dock that runs twin external displays , or even a very high resolution monitor for that matter. You either need a true docking station ( business class Lenovo, Dell or HP ) which will do up to 4 externals or something more along the lines of a good external USB graphics option such as the Matrox Triplehead 2 Go.

Well the fujitsu port replicator pr08 seems to be able to run my res, but not with two monitors attached.

Well, video through USB always had the same problem: bandwidth. USB 3.0 at least makes it possible to run a 1920x1080 monitor without terrible lag like it was the case for USB 2.0, but once you start hitting higher resolutions, you'll run into the same problems that USB 2.0 had and that is bandwidth and latency.

high res screens need the smallest amount of bottlenecks as there is a lot of pixel and color data to push.
