my mouse broke down and i hate my touchpad. it's really annoying like all touchpads are. so i've been shopping for notebook mice and of course i've got to have the most cost-efficient one. anybody have any ideas? i mean wireless ones would be nice, but all i probably would need it for is watching movies from my bed with the notebook on my desk which is probably 6 to 7 feet apart. the mx and vx revolutions look really really sweet, but they're way too expensive. it's like u pay 30 to 40 dollars just for the hyper scroll and the thumb app wheel for the mx. although the hyper scroll is really sweet, is it really worth 40 bucks? i dunno. i'd get the vx if there was a sweet deal on it or something. -_- 80 bucks for a mice is a tad bit too much. a five button wireless mouse would be pretty darn sweet, but it has to be as precise and unlaggy as a corded one. any ideas? anybody? please?

i like corded ones, that way there is no batteries.
if all you are using the mouse for is watching movies, get up off the bed and click play with the touchpad, cheaper, and it give you a little bit of excersise. lol -
yeah, but it ruins the mood. and movies are all about the mood. what do u use?

the kensington pilotmouse laser pro or something like that. i got one at best buy for 25 when it was on sale. otherwise it's around 30-40 at any given retail store. the only flaw is the scroll wheel which is a bit bleh. also, avoid the kensington software, it's not worth it and causes problems with my touchpad drivers at least. Otherwise, its a great mouse given that it's wireless 2.4Ghz so i dont get any lag. it's also laser so the tracking is good.

How much do you want to spend?
I'm quite enamoured with my Logitech MX610. I got it on sale for $50 CAD, and if you're in the U.S. you can probably find it for cheaper still. It's a great wireless laser mouse - lots of buttons, good range, very long battery life, and although I've had the odd issue with interference, it's been very precise and I've never noticed any lag. If it's in your price range, I would definitely recommend it. -
I'd recommend anything Logitech. Microsoft mice flake out on me a lot. If you can afford it, go with a laser mouse (not just optical). I got an IOGear 1600 for like, $26 the other day on buy.com, and I love it. Really sensitive which takes getting used to, but it's nice because it'll work on almost every surface.

Despite its outrageous cost, I still think the Logitech MX1000 is as close to the ideal mouse as there currently exists. It's big and comfortable, though I wish it was heavier, and it has 10 buttons, which can be mapped to do just about anything. Really, I wish it had about 3 more buttons. The less frequently I have to move my hand between mouse and keyboard, the better. If you're not willing to spend the money on a mouse like this, at least treat yourself to something with forward and back buttons and omni scroll (although this is kinda a hard option to find) -- they're very, very useful features.
vanilla mice?
