    are their notebook coolers effective?? specifically the lapcool3

    i personally prefer lapcool2 as the`rpm of the fan is higher.

    I can't give actual temperatures, but I can definitely tell you that the lapcool3 cools the exterior of a notebook very well. My gf's dv2000 used to get HOT near the left palm rest, and I'm talking OUCH hot. After purchasing the lapcool3, the palm rest wouldn't even get warm. It's also pretty sweet that you can use it on a bed since the exhaust vents are only on the back, and not the bottom.

    However, it doesn't include a built-in usb hub or anything, so you'll be losing a USB port to it.
