    I found this and it seems too good to be true :

    http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MONSTER-CAB...ultDomain_0?hash=item2a04f58db1#ht_850wt_1165

    He has good reviews form previous sells of this product, no one complaining about it being a copy or anything.

    Is this truly the monster m2000 hdmi cable?

    If so the guy must work at the factory, steal them. then sell online lol.

    Anyways I see its sold from china but does monster not have chinese distributors or manufacturers? Or does it mean its fake and not good q?

    I can't really tell..I saw some of the feedback about the packaging being "fake"....Do you really need to have "brand" HDMI cables? Personally, I wouldn't order. Did you see this thread, by chance? :eek:

    You can get just as good quality HDMI Cables for much of a lesser cost from sites such as monoprice.com (prolly the best for pricing/reliablity) :) ; amazon; even meritline.com; and eforcity.com :)

    Yeah, I bought a $3 cable on ebay and the picture quality is perfect. It's all digital, so the cables won't affect picture or sound quality.

    I've had a couple of cheap HDMI cables that weren't up to scratch but I've got more that have been fine.

    The last one that had a problem, I contacted the seller on eBay who offered to exchange it if I posted it back to them but it was that cheap, it wasn't worth sending it back, so I just bought another equally-cheap cable from somewhere else and it's been fine.

    You really don't need a branded HDMI cable and you definitely shouldn't waste your money Monster cables.

    Just check the specs though there are deff differences to be made,

    Like the user above who gave the link to a pretty good gold plated HDMI cable,

    but here are the specs:

    Monoprice High Speed HDMI Cable:

    Bandwidth: up to 340 Mhz (10.2 Gbps)
    Supported Resolutions: 480i to 1080p

    Monster cable:

    480HZ refresh rate Hyper Speed - 21.6 Gbps.
    Supported Resolutions: !!!1440p!!! 1080p|720P

    and can even support double 1080p streams

    so there really is a big difference, especially if you have a larger very high quality tv and player to connect, i can truly see the difference between the standard hdmi cable that came with the bluray player and the monster cable

    Who gives a crap if the Monster cable can purportedly do 2349384927 Hz Mighty Morphin Power Rangers go Megazord refresh rate? Unless you have a TV from the future, it's not gonna matter.

    Because that 10.2Gbps is really limiting the bitrate of a Blu-Ray that tops out at 34Mbps.

    Well there you are very very wrong,

    Of course you are aware of all of the 3d ready tv's, nvidias 3d tech, right?

    Newer 3D movies and games supply two video streams each at 1080p Full HD. With this doubling in bandwidth, the Monster 2000HD is ready to handle it all with capacity to spare.

    So say you want to play a game at 1140p using 3d tech? you will need high bandwith.

    So the regular HDMI cable that only has lesser capacity not be usable...

    You mean 10,200Mbps can't support a 54Mbps Blu-Ray? Or... two 54Mbps streams? I mean maybe I don't know math, but I'd venture that's theoretically 188 concurrent streams. Darn that bandwidth limited cable at Monoprice.

    actually u are right, I was wrong in my impression of hdmi bandwith requirments, i did a refresh on the formula for calculating and u are right even at 3dvision with a res of 1440p at 90fps dont need more than 1.4gbps per channel = 2.8gbps.

    but I guess only being 19usd i would prefer to have it so it does not need to be upgraded as bandwith requirments are upgraded

    Alright, so lets compute this bandwidth necessary.

    Without any compression what-so-ever:

    (I don't know what 1140p is, so we'll use 1080)

    1920x1080 = 2073600
    * 24 (24-bit color) = 49766400
    * 120 Hz = 5971968000
    divide by 2^30 (bits into gigabits) = 5.56.

    So, without any compression, to get 1920x1080 video at 120 Hz, which is what is required for 3D, you need 5.56 Gbps.

    Those are just marketing jibber jabber. They're pretty much useless figures since they don't really improve on anything noticeable. In essence, you're paying for a $2000 suit, when it won't wear any better than a $500 dollar one. Still, if you have the money and you care about labels, then buy the Monster.

    Monster runs one of the most deceptive marketing campaigns ever - it is the sole entity to blame for the huge number of consumers out there who truly believe a prettier-looking cable can truly transmit better-looking video.

    OP, don't fall for their tricks. Just buy whatever version 1.3 (or above) HDMI cable fits your length requirement.

    No, no, 54 Mbps is the compressed video bitrate on the disc. That's what is transferred from the disc to the BD player. What's transferred to the TV is the uncompressed video signal, which is much larger. Any old cheapo HDMI cable is still plenty, but that 54 Mbps number just doesn't apply here.

    i think im winning with my 9p cable from china. :D

    anyway, HDMI is a standard, the current standard is 1.3b, however these have only been changes to the output compression method, not to the cables themselves.

    You mean you'll give me a 1-in-1024 chance of winning $1000?... not a bad deal really, as long as it's free to try!

    Contestants will win $1.02 on average, so... how about you just send us all $1.02 via Paypal? ;)

    Yeah, me too... the Monster one will feel much thicker and heavier... lol.

    Sure. I can safely say that the cheapo still wins, even if it has lower quality signal. Cheapo wins over Monster by default, because Monster is a scam.

    exhibit A of a brainwashed customer by the likes of the stupid-*** company known as Monster Cable...

    not to say monoprice isn't bad, but i've had really good experience with the individual seller "eForCity" (which also has its own site) through amazon resellers. I ordered a 6Ft HDMI cable for $2.99, and it wasn't working with my Laptop-->Plasma, but it worked fine on my 360/PS3--->Plasma, so i inquired about return for an exchange...the cable was so cheap that they just sent me a new 10Ft HDMI cable that worked perfectly without an exchang. So i basically got 2 HDMI cables for $2.99. one works fine with my consoles, the 10FT works fine with my laptop. eForCity is a great vendor with 1 cent cables (+$2.98 shipping :p).
