I would like to know what cable i need to do this. I have a lot of DVDs on my laptop and i would like to watch them on my bigscreen downstairs. I have a HP Pabilion dv9000.
my TV only has the Yellow Red and White inputs

Is it this system? if so, I believe it has a svideo out which will do you fine.

You will need the audio out to the audio in of the tv or stereo which are your red and whites.
You can also hook up the yellow which is the video if you choose not to use the svideo. -
yes it does have a S-Video out but i couldnt find a cablt that one end is Svideo and the other is yellow.

HDMI? eh? eh?

I had a similar problem and i just went to Microcenter and found an S-video to video converter, as well as a cable that converts my headphone jack to red and white cables.
