    Hi,

could you please direct me to a web sites/articles where I could read about webcams? I need to buy one and want to know all the details regarding technical features - angles, sensors, speed, built-in microphones, software etc.

Any guides/reviews would be very much apreciated as I want to be able to compare different products.

    thank you in advance

    cheers
    zxc

Well, I guess that depends on what you're after. Image quality, features, portability, tracking, etc.? How much you're willing to pay is also an important consideration.

I'm currently on the hunt for a good webcam as well, and I've found simply reading reviews to be quite helpful. Proper in-depth reviews will give you a lot of information, and I'm sure you'll start to see what sort of things will be important to you.

A webcam review site that I really like is this: http://cowboyfrank.net/webcams/#revews1

I have the Logitech QuickCam deluxe for notebooks, and it works great. Would like to upgrade to the "pro" soon though.

Here's a page that you might find somewhat helpful: http://www.creative.com/products/webcams/howto/article.asp?articleid=59444&cat=12&page=

It's Creative's glossary of webcam terms; should be handy if there's anything you don't know.

I just bought a Creative Webcam Live! Pro today, and it seems to be pretty good. The image quality is superb, but it appears to have a problem with increasing the exposure through the software - framerate drops way, way down.
