I'm looking to buy a lcd tv 4:3 as a monitor. This is because I want my laptop to connect to a convenient tv that can both use as a monitor that can display nice large images (i hate small images) and also switch over and use a gamecube or an xbox for it. Would this be a good option for me? I'm used to using a desktop monitor 17" at 800x600 and now my laptop has a 1680x1000 and the font is way too small. Would a lcd tv 4:3 monitor be good for me? What would be some positive and negatives?

No it should be perfectly fine but some stuffs like movies may look weird if they were formatted for 16:9(black bars or distorted) other than that there wont be any problem.

you can increase the size of the font in vista, or just change the resolution to a lower one.

any resolution that isn't on my native looks very blurry, which makes it even worse. changing the ont also doesn't work.
What is the main disadvantage between using an LCD TV and a LCD monitor anyways? do LCD TV have lower response rate? -
Low end hd tv's have a very low resolution and are not made for gaming. Compter LCD's have a much higher resolution and response rate.
what is your experience with a 4:3 lcd tv as a monitor?
