The U3 Plus adds a strap to hold your notebook to the cooler when transporting, and two small posts in the back for "cable management". Not worth the extra price. Just go with a standard U2 or U3.

^U3 "non-plus" model also comes with a strap

    Main difference is that the U3 plus is slightly larger -- 17.1 (L) x 13.1 (W) x 3 (H) whereas the U3's dimensions are 16.5 (H) x 12.6 (W) x 2.5 (H). The U3 would fit most 17.3" notebooks comfortably, and the U3 Plus is probably better suited for 18.4" laptops.

Really? Must've been a newer addition cause my U3 didn't come with a strap. Then again, I bought mine many years ago.

In any event, since the OP says he's got a sager np9170, then a standard U3 is fine as he has a 17" notebook.
