    Hi there,
I bought a new Dell 600 M laptop. Now, I want to get an internal dvd writer for my laptop. Any one has any idea what type of dvd writer should I chose? Recently I got an internal dvd writer. But it looks big and does not fit into my laptop drive.

It looks like there is an optional optical drive for your model that may fit your needs:

    And on E-bay...(1 day left):

The problem you are going to have with buying an off the shelf burner, as you've already seen, is making it fit. Becasue the Dell is a modular bay, it has notch on the bezel in the lower right corner. No new drive you can purchase is going to have that. It may be possible swap the bezels and caddy. DVD burners sold over the internet are OEM, meaning no help from the manufacturer. Dell generally use NEC DVD Burners in their laptops. I think you best bets are ebay and dell. Ebay will be cheaper and dell will have the latest models. Also you could get an external one. They make slim ones that are laptop drives in a case. Then you wouldn't have to make it fit.
