I got an Acer AL2216W a few months back at Circuit city for $209, pretty much the same specs as the CHIMEI, except its got a 700 to 1 contrast ratio,I'm very happy with it, got it paired up with an acer AL1916W for my desktop system, the Dell link you posted doesnt work.

btw, that 292 included free shipping and tax already.

It's roughly the same price as the Chimei when you figure in shipping for the Chimei.

The ACER is a 22" model, its pretty much the exact same specs as the ones your posting ecpet for a slightly lower contrast ratio.

what do you think about the Dell?

Am I basically paying more for brand?

would you pay 10 bucks more for a Dell than a Chimei? I also think the Chimei looks cheesy with the side button controls.

just my opinion but I'm still up for suggestions.

    thanks Ice

I'd go with the DELL,they sell some really good screens for the money, and the base is worlds better than that of the ACER, it has back tilt only, no height or swivel adjustment at all, which is a shame, as its a great screen aside from that.

I use a 20.1" widescreen from Dell and I like it alot. Dell builds good monitors and prices them good as well.

I was debating getting the 22inch from Dell, but I decided on the 20" 2007WFP, since it has a better panel & pixel pitch. It was slightly more expensive though. It is excellent.
