i think i have narrowed it down to these two choices.

    The Swiss Gear Maxxum
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834997084

    or

    The Mobile Edge MEBPE2
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834997649&Tpk=Mobile+Edge+MEBPE2

Ignore the price differences please. So out of these two backpacks which one should I choose? I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with a 6 cell battery (does not stick out) and a notebook sleeve. I want one that will fit my notebook well and be pretty high quality. If there are any other backpacks i should be considering feel free to mention it. Thanks.

Get the Maxxum. I have a Swiss Gear pack just like it, lots of room and good quality.

I would go with the Mobile Edge MEBPE2. I have a backpack similar to this and it's great! Look at all those beautiful pockets and zippers to zip up your extra pens, pencils, notebooks, books, batteries, cell phone, flash drive, portable printers, portable speakers, and most importantly it gives very good protection to your notebook. Oh and not to mention that this bag can get heavy, so the pads on the shoulder straps are nice, meaning it has this comfortable new technology where it doesn't hurt your shoulders or back.

my only problem, not really problem but worry, with the mebpe2 is that there is only the one zipper compartment, so i would have to cram all my books in with my laptop, whereas with the swiss maxxum i have a zipper for my laptop and a zipper for my books.

well, seeing how the backpack is for a 15.4 in i would guess no. I mean, it would go in but be really really loose.

The Maxxum has awesome padding, lots of protection for the notebook, and plenty of room. You can't go wrong.

I just picked up the Swiss Gear Maxxum and I love it. It has tons of pockets in it. I actually got it for $30 by ordering from Amazon and applying for an Amazon.com credit card. It worked out really nice. It fits my Inspiron 6000 really well, which means your 1520 should fit great. Good luck on your decision.

Does The 1520 with 9-cell battery fit in the Maxxum? I seen a thread where somebody said it didn't fit.
