im open to more suggestions. my price ranger is $60. i dont need the bag to be too big and i would like it to have some style but simple at the same time like the ones mentioned above.

sorry but IMO all those bags are ugly. i would do a search here and look for threads asking about bags and check the bags that the other people recommended. or go to ebags.com and look for one there

search for osprey elroy or astro.

i own an elroy. big, fits 17 inches, padded laptop compartment, many compartments for me to store mouse, adaptors, cleaning cloth, even a smaller sleeve for a mouse pad.

i have no idea whats your taste, so im just suggesting what i thot was quite a good buy for me.. :)

well ive just seen some of the north face and dakine ones online. i have to say if those have good protection i will definitely get one of those. however, what are your guys' experiences with these backpacks? do they have sufficient padding? i read the review on the sierra wenger bag and that doesnt have enough padding, it leaves marks on the screen from pressure points

i'm using the swiss army marlet. it's a backpack with the best padding around. cost is around 40 something including shipping. Has room for my m1530, cooling pad, WD 750GB external, logitech mouse, two books and some folders. Very comfortable, doesn't feel heavy, sturdy material, has a case base so it stands upright, lots of padding, pocket for cell phone and mp3 player, etc. It looks nice too, high quality.

I like Swiss Gear bags although they are a tad expensive.
