i've used a bunch of logitech mice, and the razer diamondback is the only one that really fits me. i have small hands, so the MX 510 was a dread to hold onto
can anyone recommend any good razer diamondback mice? preferably something that lights up blue, those look cool![]()
and what does DPI mean? i know it stands for dots per inch but what exactly does that mean
-
a diamond back is a mouse. razer is the company that makes them. they also make the copperhead, death adder, and krait to name a few.
i quite like the diamondback, but the copperhead has a few more buttons. do you like the look of any in particular? -
they all look really beautiful to me. the diamondback itself looks really nice and they all do look really similar anyways
my friends told me diamondback had bad ratings, so i refrained from buying one. i was wondering which of razer's mice did recieve good ratings -
i'm pretty sure both the diamaondback and the copperhead received good ratings. i have a diamondback and i love it. i have reasonably small hands, but i also like the mx518.

thanks! -
dpi = dots per inch
wiki is fairly knowledgable on the topic
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouse_dpi#Mouse_speed
the copperhead has more buttons and higher dpi. have you had a test of both. the diamondback is about $10 cheaper so i would probably go with it if you are not a hard coore gamer. -
yeah i just bought an mx518 (woulda gotten a g5 but the guy sold it >.< ) and i rly love it! rly comfortable when im gaming for hours on end...

Get the deathadder. Laser is worse than optical. What you need is a mouse with a high DPI optical engine like deathadder.
Diamondback did recieve bad reviews from actual gamers.
The top tho seems to be the mx518. I have a g5 but i wish i got the mx518. -
the diamondback didn't get any bad reviews from people i know. i regularly lan with 10 mates and 4 of them have diamondbacks and love them.
the main thing to take into consideration is how comfortable it is for you.
chances are he doesn't need that high a dpi. 1600 would be plenty high enough i'd say. -
i wouldn't call myself a pro gamer, but i am entering two leagues for counter strike 1.6 and i just need the edge
i looked at my mouse again, and it was the mx 518, not the 510. it isnt comfortable for me, simply because my hands are small, but i could understand why other people love it
are there any razer users out there who can comment on their mice? -
I have own the diamondback for just over a year...
It has for some reason changed my grip style...i used to use the MX510 and i find that more comfortable for generall use. but with the diamondback i now use ''finger grip''... it is light, the wire doesnt tangle, and i haive got the blue one aswellbut i dont think they sell them anymore...
Compared to the MX510 i found the buttons on the diamondback alittle too 'soft'.
But overall i think it is a very good mouse! -
i read the reviews on newegg, and theres a double click problem? like you click once, and the mouse registers it as a double click
has this happened to anyone here? -
they do still sell the razer diamondback. just look it up on razerzone.com
they give u a bunch of resellers sites where u can buy it as well.
check out newegg.com -
Yes they still sell the diamondback but what i meant was they don't sell the blue one anymore
-
johnny did you ever have a double click problem? when you click once, did it ever register as two
-
oh i guess ur rite then.

i've never had the double click problem either.
by the way johnny, i have the blue one as well. -
any non diamond back users?
my friend has the deathadder, and he says that copperhead is a really good one. -
chaz likes his copperhead. (this could be taken rather amusingly
)

I had the blue Diamondback for almost two years until it broke (lots of use, not to say it didn't get it's lifetime... the wubber had worn off the side!). Loved it.
Switched to a Copperhead, and I absolutely love it. It takes a bit to get used to the grip, because the click action is quite sensitive and you can't really move the mouse with your fingertips. I actually only touch it in three places now (other than clicking)... thumb on Mouse4, ring finger curled under the right rubber grip, holding on by a fingertip, and my thumb/palm joint near the bottom of the mouse.
I can't say enough positive things about it, they are just my favorite style of mice. 2000dpi isn't enough for me, though. I wish I could bump it up to 2500-2800... preference. -

I had the Diamondback for almost a year and then I switched to the Copperhead; I have been using it for about a year now too. I like the Copperhead much better - the rubber grips on the sides are much better, the matte surface instead of the glossy on the top leads to a cleaner mouse, and the Copperhead simply looks cooler. It's worth the extra money in my opinion.
The DeathAdder might be a better buy though, it depends on your preferences. I myself have never used one so I cannot judge it. ExtremeTech gave it the highest rating possible, 10/10:

cool. i'll take an extra look at the copperhead, and test drive my friend's deathadder
thanks a lot for the responses! -
I'd say the mx518 is better if you're looking for a palm mouse.
Copperhead is more for me, though. I've banished my mx518 to bed duty... on it now. It sits on my end table for when i sit in bed... I hate touchpads.

I tried the deathadder a few weeks ago at a computer convention in HK, i loved it straight away! it has bigger side buttons and the mouse is also generally bigger which is what i really liked... i dont have a big hand but i have a large palm n shorter fingers....
lol
@liquid steel....so true i just cant palm the diamondback.....
@jeff....''chaz likes his copper head'' LOL.....
Edit: lnknprkn i read from another post that u need a cooler also? read my review!!(in sig) although its not out yet in north america....
