So i got a belkin sleeve for the laptop.

omg these sleeves stink big time. im having a gag reflex near it. its made my laptop stink of this smell too when i take it out of the bag.

the neoprene stinks like crap. Maybe i have a sensitive smell but it smells terrible.

does this smell go away over time or is it time for a refund

I have a Belkin Sleeve. I have no probs with smell.
If it's that terrible, I would prolly' return it.

Is it a Memory Foam Sleeve, or the Neoprene?
From a Google search, it appears some of them have had a bad odor.
But, it go's away with time.

Try a damp cloth on it (blotting around)...to see it helps. Or, even a bit of baby powder (no a lot), just enough so that you can rub it around on the sleeve, and get it in the sleeve really well. ;)

it is neoprene. ive done research and neoprene is known to smell like crap to some people. im apparently sensitive to it. its the same stuff they use for diving gear.

I have literally been running a fan at this thing opened for days whenever possible. i've taken my laptop out of the bag with sleeve on for maybe 5 hours. and I can still smell residuals off my laptop even now, after about 12 hours away from the sleeves.

return date is soon so i must decide. my old sleeve was prob nylon or something. anyway theres zero smell given off.

I would suggest you return it then. I have 2 sleeves I ordered from meritline.com, and they are awesome (and cheaper), no smells.

Waiting on this one to arrive for my Netbook:

nice. Yea its wierd because I just swung by a store to check out their sleeves and some of them (also neoprene) dont smell. But Ive been reading people saying neoprene naturally gives off a synthetic plastic smell. but they are also much less flexible than the one i bough with the smell. it might have to do with the plasticizers they are using. I think I am kinda sensitive to that synthetic smell initiating a gag response.
