I have the g1s and i just purchased the zalman zm-nc1000. I turned rivatuner on and to my dismay...my gpu and cpu temp are exactly the same. I turn the cooler off and waited 5 mins....the temps the same as when the cooler is on. I feel like i just wasted $55.....is there anyway to fix it? on full load my pc's at 95 degrees celcius....

well for me the cooler helped with the hard drives but the CPU and GPU are maybe 4C over the usual. i guess no air is going to the gpu or cpu

maybe. Everyone says that the nc-1000 is a great cooler. Maybe it will work better in a few days. Who knows.

The main thing that I would recommend the notebook cooler is not just the fans or airflow... rather:
    - having the notebook elevated and tilted
    - having a guarantee that the notebook in on a flat and cool surface.

Example: if I were to leave my notebook on a table, the table's surface will start warming up after a while of gaming, then the temps rise. The temps may not be impressive on a notebook cooler (during average/warm days), but they are stable and dont fluctuate.

yes the fans are working (i checked heh) and the fans are on the highest setting. Thats why i'm so confused as to why there is no difference in the temps. the air coming from the cooler feels very cold (like an air conditioner) but o well

    Minj,

That weird because if you search the Asus forum a lot of people are reporting really good results with the Zalman NC-1000.

I hope you're wrong because my Zalman arrives early next week!

I'll do testing again later today with a different game. I really can't explain it either. The reason I bought it was because of those people reporting the good results.

i tested the cooler with COH and the gpu was actually about 3 degrees celcius cooler than normal. Another thing that I noticed is that the bottom of the laptop is cool to the touch unlike before. It use to make me jump when i touch the back right corner by accident.

Now, how does the zalman notebook cooler works with the Asus G1S??
I wanted to buy the zalman cooler for my G1S this afternoon !! But now i see that it doesn't help or what??
I'm not going to buy the cooler if it only reduces the temp with like 2°C....

    Thanks ;)

There are mixed opinions. You might also gain (or lower, depending on how you think about it) a few degrees by removing the black tape from the vent panels.\

I love my handmade one, it's one step lower than setting my laptop on a box fan and forcefeeding it a few hundred CFM. (see sig).

If you are so inclined, I'd suggest making one, the added precision of placing the fans, coupled with higher volume of air movement makes for some very nice results.

The Zalman is definitely one of the best retail coolers, though.
