Hello,
I'm planning on getting an mp3 player, and from what i've seen, only ipod and zune offers 100gb and more.
So, which should i get? I'm leaning more towards the zune, is this a better choice?
-
You could get a compltely different device too (less space though)
But I'd say - stay away from Apple.
Reason: I just dislike them.... -
You can try filling in the FAQ
-
Do you think he'll change hist mind to get a netbook then? -
Well... between the two hard-drive players... they're pretty comparable IMO... I'd probably get the Zune just to avoid having to run iTunes... but if you want Mac OS X compatibility or a larger selection of accessories, then go iPod.
-
Well, I don't mind using iTunes
My brother likes the Zune more than the iPod Classic
I like both but I went with the iPod because it was cheaper, and you can also sell it more easily than a zune later on if you nol onger want it.
I say ......................
iPod [you never would have guessed lol]
-
Zune. My best friend got one for Christmas...And, I really rather like it.
Well, so does she
It's very easy to use..and I like it's features!

depends on your needs.
iPod has great simple interface and itunes is great way to manage music.
classic is 120 GB fyi. -
ipod all the way!!
-
zune all the way. nothing else.
-
Get a zune, the ui is nice, theres more features and you'll get new features for free when they update the firmwares again and you wont have to deal with the appalling piece of code known as itunes.
iTunes makes me want to sell my ipod and buy a zune from evilbay  -
get a creative, better sound processing
if not, zune. -
I like my laser-engraved iPod. Just hate the scratches though...
-
cowon D2 are the best sounding apparently. i dont know anything about them unfortunately.
-
Go ipod, i love mine. i absolutely hate apple (they are communists) though. my 5th gen ipod has lasted...3 years i think? and it still runs perfectly fine, where both my freinds zunes have broke. stay away from itunes, itunes sucks. go for floola if you get an ipod.
-
That was when I bought mine
Dunno why they don't just replace the silver backs with the same color as the front eg. black
Cool that you have an engraved one, I didn't have that option here
Will it work with my classic??? -
Zune is a ugly piece of crap.
iPod is one of the most stylish and easy-to-use players. -

Any attitude to design varies from person to person, i.e. what one likes the other may hate... -
Go with a Zune... I can't stand iPods. Much too expensive for the amount of tech you get in return.

Some rep for the heads up
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I'd go with the Cowon D2 or the Cowon S9. I have the D2 and its the most versatile player I've had, and the S9 is even better than it(its the newer model).

Overall, it boils down to the software they provide imo. iTunes has TERRIBLE managing skills. Zune is just straight forward. Zune has bigger screen. Scratch Free Screen.
GO WITH ZUNE FTW!

I really like my 120gb zune
-
If you use Windows, get Zune.
If you use Mac, get iPod. -
Speaking on behalf of the ipod mini/nano, it's certainly a good product. I've had my current nano, the original aluminium for over 2 years now and battery life has remained adequate, and it hasn't broken. It's the least I could ask for. It has its glitches, but the form factor won me over.
Itunes isn't my favorite, it's bloated and unoptimized. But it works fine, all I use it for is managing music in list-by-artist format, and the EQ.
In a word, I'd call the ipod overrated. But it's not bad, and in some views it's the best choice. -
zune all the way
-
if you're an audiophile, zune. ipods have terrible sound quality, it's really noticeable in a few situations. the zune also has a better interface and better controls, IMO. both the zune software and itunes are terrible, and there's a good amount of accessories for them both. i think the battery life is better on ipods.
-
zune > ipod
*from personal experience -
i was looking all over since my zune broke a week ago and i'm going to rebuy one i was thinking of a cowon but it doesn't have enough memory so zune all they way. it's nearly unbreakable(just don't aim for the touchpad thingamagiger)

Zune? iPod? wth...
COWON D2/S9 if you focus on audio more (this doesn't mean they are bad for video).
COWON A3/O2 for video junkies.
and btw, cowon = say no to transcode (mostly). -

Personally I use iPods but I've never owned a zune. One thing the iPod does well is it just works I've never had a single problem with one. And I love my touch to death!!!!!
-
-
I vote for iPod.
Especially, iPod Touch. (1G, Jailbroken) -
-
Agreed. I got my first iPod in 2003, and have upgraded with each new iteration. My orignal iPod is STILL working. -
Ive had to restore mine a couple times, but overall was my own fault. -
-
I have an iPod Touch, because there's no real competition in term of fuctionnality. However, I hate iTunes so much that you can't imagine.
The Zune is a much better product when compare to the iPod classic, and the Zune software is waaaaaaayyyy better than iTunes. Actually, i use the Zune software to play music at home when I do not need iTunes to sync my iPod.
If I had to buy a HD mp3 player right now, sure I'd buy a Zune, no contest. -
-
go with zune, i have a ipod classic its decent but i wish i would have went with the big version of a zune w.e thats called, but both are great
-
go to the display in the store and use each one. buy the one you like better.

I own an Ipod touch and have used a zune. I'd still go with my ipod because of the build quality.
zune or ipod
