Anyone have a link for the latest GPU-drivers? I did install some German translated driver earlier, but don't know if that is the latest.

    AND:

The GPU-clock is set at Engine: 99,99 and Memory Clock 149,97. Is this right?

Leshcat is working on Catalyst 11.11 hybrid, should be released shortly. He says the backlight problem is fixed (yay!), among other bugfixes for Skyrim and BF3.

As for GPU clock, it is reading the low power clocks, it's perfectly fine. It will increase to stock clocks when under load.

    EDIT: 11.11 released, download here.

Talking about launch manager... is there a way to open the wi-fi/BT panel without a key combination, but by clicking with the mouse on a shortcut?

I'm asking because i use my pc with external keyboard and monitor, and can't use Fn keys...

I think creating a shortcut from the Launch Manager executable onto the desktop will work, but I can't check that as I don't have my 3820TG with me right now.

After 2 hrs of trying I must say that unfortunately the notrorious backlight issue remains on my 3820tg.

Tried a clean install, after removing previous Ati drivers and double checking with Driver Sweeper. Also tried the method with switching into discrete in bios.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe the problem isn't fixed after all :p you could post a comment on the post and tell him. Also, sign up as a beta tester because it helps him to diagnose and fix the problem faster.

Definitely performance. The latest drivers will fix the problem of blurred videos which are encoded differently - typical in some xvid, flash (like bbc videos), and youtube.

Of course, switching to gpu graphics will fix that problem....it's just annoying.

    Ciao,

hence Corsair was out of stock on amazon, i ordered this Mushkin Kit:
    996647 - 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 SODIMM PC3-10666 9-9-9-24 Essentials

It runs fine, but as predicted the FSB won't run higher than 140MHz (Stock 2x2GB Hynix stable@158MHz)

So any chance it can be modded like your Corsair, or better return it?

Use 4gbSkyrim mod when you play it, its much better and wont crash. With that mod you can use those great texture mods and med/high settings.

Where can I adjust the fans? I'd like em to run full speed all the time. Now while playing GPU goes up to 114c and then it crashes.. I think this new catalyst 11.11 raises my gpu to 550/900? Can it be possible? I use AMD clocktoll to put em back to default 400/800.

    Check http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/562583-3820tray-hardware-control-powerprofiles-cpumonitor.html

You can use 3820tray to make a *.bat file with custom fan settings, you can then run this bat file and it will run your fans at the selected speeds. So from 0-100+° you can have it run at 100%.

    Hope that helps.

    Hey guys!
I've just started Skyrim at my 3820tg and I'm a bit disappointed.
I dunno why but I had only about 25-30 FPS on all totally LOW settnigs. I had turned off everything. Even so I get about 87 degrees of my GPU (HD5650). Skyrim has so beautiful graphisc and I can't enjoy it :( I can't stand thought that my laptop is getting old and I must play always on low :p

I can't imagine how he made it. I have same FPS but on 1366x768 and ALL details and settings OFF. So jealous.
I can only download 4GBSkyrim Mod but I'm not optimistic about it.
Any advices? I have latest drivers btw.

Naah, what im using atm is High/Med settings, No AA, AAF maybe 4x, FXAA enabled(looks same as 4xAA is on but its lighter), shadows medium or low, Textures High, draw distance high, blur medium.
    + 4gbSkyrim Mod
+ several graphics mods that makes game more beautiful, but not faster. Water, stars, snow, signs, food, blood, naked bodies..
    + Ati catalyst 11.11
    + bios 1.19
+ 3820Tray to adjust fans and see CPU&GPU temp.
++ NO Vsync (Vsync can cause some fps drop at cities, because shadows takes some time to be drawn, so its off)

-DONT use FXAA mods, it makes game 5-9fps slower and way more uglier.
-DONT use Some other performance mod like this, it lowers fps http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=489#content I tried it.

My Fps outside is 24-30, inside 30-40, sometimes even better. If I use LOW settings i don't get much better fps, maybe 3-5.. So it takes a lot from CPU I think?? Thats why shadows have to be med/low,m because its CPU calculated. The problem I have now is that my GPU heats up to 115celsius very fast, and I dont know why. I believe its because Catalyst 11.11.

Is there any other program to see how fast fan is running? That one is quite difficult. I think there is something wrong now, because I cant even play WOT for long periods.

EDIT: OK, I found these settings, http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...x-3820tg-mods-tweaks-only-16.html#post7467467

used the gaming settings (i think.. Open Profile Folder --> Gaming Settings..) It did some flash things and my GT3820 make a hell of a noise now, while playing Skyrim, BUT the temp doesnt go over 100!!!! THANKS!! How can i adjust those settings that fans would go full when its over 95c?

    also tried skyrim now:
    1680x1050
    No AA
    FXAA disabled
    shadows low
6550m@650/900 (at 700 i get red artifacts all over after certain time)
+ no performance mods except disabled mouse acceleration and no vsync
    + leshcat Ati catalyst 11.11
    + bios 1.19

    around 37 fps outside

    temperatures (msi afterburner) :
gpu never ever above 88 degree 80 nominal,
no fan profile modifications, just lifted the back of the notebook 2cm for better air entry
    cpu around 80-84 degree
    gpu usage 95-100%

i used these on gpu and cpu as i made my backlit keyboard mod

So I have HD5650, a bit slower than 6550, but I can OC to equal with 6550. The problem is overheat. Even before OC my card is very warm on ALL LOW (about 87 degrees when your card didnt get over 87 on mid settings, dunno why. Maybe I should repaste). I will try to use 3820Tray to see how my fan works.
Should I update BIOS? I've never done it before.

I did my first Laptop Bios update last week and it was easy. Just run the program from windows, you dont have to use any usb memory sticks and dos..
Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / Aspire / Aspire 3820TG

Hmm.. at Skyrim I use 4xAAF, sometimes its off and sometimes its 8x. I cant see any differences, what should it do?

Yesterday i took some fraps screenshots and its 24-30 fps outside, 30-40 even 50 at inside. Shadows are crap(low), but other graphics look great(textures high and modded better, draw distance high, not ultra tho).

Is there a quide how to use that 3820tray program? I'd like to learn to adjust those fans atleast.. Now the noise is something horrible, but laptop stays cool

So my GPU reached 94*C at mid settings after I had installed 11.11 leshcat (still same framerate). I've noticed that I'm not the only one who has problems with overheat on 11.11, but come on... It isn't worth to play like that. Maybe my OS is too overloaded, I'll try to reinstall it for some time.
Does the BIOS uptade make any difference at laptop efficiency? :p
And I'm not sure how to use 3820Tray but I will figure it out soon.

    Hello,

I have a very peculiar problem. When I play games on my laptop, the game stutters (ie. freezes for a second or so every few seconds). This happens even for games when I exceed recommended requirements, no matter what graphic options I use. Whether I run everything on High or everything on Low, the stuttering is always there.
When I play some older games, I don't usually get the stuttering but sometimes, it's there.

Because the stuttering is periodical, I think it may be either something with HDD (like it's constatly writing something) or (according to some forum posts) because of HyperThreading. However, when I went to BIOS, there was no option to turn HyperThreading off.

It makes all the games completely unplayable and I'm getting desperate. Any help would be much appreciated.

    My config:
    Intel i5-460M (not overclocked)
    Mobility Radeon HD5650 (not overclocked)
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    WD 640GB HDD
    AMD Catalyst 11.11

List of recent games that stutter for me:
    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
    Battlefield 3
    Portal 2
inMomentum (indie game with very low sys requirements)

^I use 4gb usb memory stick to boost cache memory, have you tried that one? I don't know that does it make system any faster, but now it dont have to use hdd as cache memory.

I made a batchfile with 3820tray, and then loaded it, I believe it uses now my Fan settings?

Try switching the VGA cable. Also check if it's fully plugged in the laptop. There are no holes for screws to hold the cable so it can be a bit wobbly.

Thanks. Tried the app out but the stuttering is still there. It's better and doesn't appear as often as it used to but it's not 100% gone :-(
But it made at least some of the games somewhat-playable ;-)

EDIT: I did some further tweaking and I can play the games without stuttering now but my GPU and CPU reach extreme temperatures. Could anybody please point me how to tweak my fans to run 100%? I don't care about any noise they will be making. I read something about 3820tgtray but didn't understand much of it @_@ Thanks.

Easiest way is to make fan settings on second page, then save it (CreateBatchFile) and then load it from first page (OpenPatchFolder --> choose your file).
You can also look that "How TO" and download those files. Thats all it takes, I think. (goes to this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...x-3820tg-mods-tweaks-only-16.html#post7467467 )

I don't know that do you have to run that program every time? It says it flashes those fan settings (to bios??). " Caution: it flashes the KBC" KBC..? hmm.. sounds like KFC.

I use slow, slow, slow, fast, faster, fastest on both fans.

Or it's overloading GPU cause since I've installed 11.11 the temperatures went so high and as I read here that's not only my opinion that this driver is a reason.
