    welcome any time !!
and i advice u guys to flash the bios to the latest version i think that it made my notebook boot faster plus it has the option to disable the sata AHCI in case u want to install winXP without needing an external floppy drive or creating an XP cd with sata drivers ..
i really like this notebook !!

What's your password for eRecovery? I'm pretty sure that I was asked to input one when I first used the software. The password is now used for everything from backup to restore.
Maybe you can ask Acer about what's going on?
    Good luck!

    i think i did that !!
thank u for reminding me that its the same pass i set before of windows ..
just one thing if u noticed that on ur notebook ..my harddisk is very hot !!
its like 55 c degrees all the damn time and i checked the seagate to see the max temp for it and it says 54 ...so i think my notebook is going downhill as i had a history of dead harddisks with all my notebooks .. :(

My hard disk only gets hot under heavy loads. However, I don't really check for the exact temperature, instead I just determine "the hotness" by feeling the left palm rest.

I would say that my HD is fine most of the time.

man a few moments ago the hard disk started to make loud and disturbing sounds and the whole system frooze and thanks god i wasnt using the battery so i just unpluged the ac and restarted in safe mode to check the damage and the damn event viewer didnt say anything about the disk !!
for godsake someone tell me what to do with this harddisk problems im getting as there isnt an acer service here ...
and i personally think that its the damn robson cache thats causing all that ..

Update : guys disabling the ReadyBoost & ReadyDrive on my acer notebook lowered the temp from 55 degrees at boot to 40 !!!
and the stability is much much better as i got nearly 100 errors in one day !!

Hopefully everything will work out for you eventually. Good luck!

Personally I'm having no problem and I'm using readyboost through an SD card.

How much performance difference do you feel with Readyboost? Is it worth going for an SD card?

    Yo...

I've been able to overclock using ntune to 590/470 and getting an average of 4500 3DMARK06 points (@ 1280 x 800). I'm using the Aspire Gemstone with nVidia 8600M GT. I think that should be just about good enough for Crytek's CRYSIS but I'm only getting my copy next week so I'll let you know how that turns out.

    Hope the info helps...
