    Thank you,

Why we must flash in the thirst step with the 1.14 Bios?
    What is the "Slic 2.1"?

    Thank you for your answer

Thankyou succeded enabling the VT thanks to the instruction. ofcourse I modded the last version 1.20 slic and now I have VT enabled with help of Python 2,6. Running two full-hd screen. My laptop and a hdmi BenQ E2420HD as a separate OS with two mouses and keyboad without mouse integration and second USB wireless mouse and keyboard is catched as usb using it on my other screen. Also windows 64bit ultimate as guest host full screen and all the other. Previously I could run the OS without the BIOS support but don't know how. (tested with microsoft official virtualisation tool, before and after) Now I am sure I have VT enabled and I flashed for the last time....

    Hi guys, newbie here.

I have tried this method to the letter 3 times with 1.13, 1.14A and 1.20 and each time I reboot and try to run vmware with virtualization it tells me that it requires hardware virtualization.

I can't work out what the problem is - I have done everything this guide says x 3 with each of the BIOS and each time vmware comes up with the same error.

Acer 8930G with a T9400 so that's not the issue. Shame because the process is well documented here thanks to Sanke1 and the OP.

Anyone have any ideas? (Each time the python script ran without an error)

    I'm stumped!

    (Currently on 1.14A)

    Oh wow...

I just followed the steps again, but this time, instead of saving as km_113 i saved as a custom filename.

I then set the filename= paramter in the ini file to the custom filename, ran the flashing utility, rebooted, started my vm and it worked.

Typical. No idea why it wasn't working before.

I have an 8930G with version 1.20 of the bios recently flashed. I'd like to enable VT but am unsure with this version of the bios, could I have some assistance please?

I followed the instructions at here perfectly, but all it tells me is that the 1.14 BIOS is "not for my notebook."
I would attempt the thread linked to in the OP but it doesn't make a lick of sense to me, and is hardly in an "instruction" format.

Also, I got linked to a Acer 8930G 1.20 BIOS Slic 2.1 modified BIOS, how would I change the steps in the instructions to use this BIOS instead?

What are the advantages to VT?

issit just as so you can launch programs and applications in previous versions of windows or in a different architecture (64/ 32 bit??)

or is there some performance enhancements... please let me know?

    thanks

VT enables you to run virtual machines with virtually (no pun intended) no emulation overhead.
