Those keys are controlled by Acer's launch control software. Installing the software will enable the Fn key to work.

Acer launch manager should all you need to get it working. Since you said you have installed all the software have you tried re-installing the Launch manager software.

I wish I could help more but I sold my aspire 3003 a while back and from what I can remember I think you need both the e-manager as well as the launch manager. The e-manager manages all Acer software so you will have to install that first before installing the launch manager. It is also strange that all other Fn keys work other than the vol up/down.

Never done this before. Hope it's right.

This morning the mouse pad started to jup around and then I noted the keyboard did not always respond to my inputs. Now the keyuboard and pad have quit completely.

Help... is this a software or hardware problem? Any ideas?:confused2:

    Thx

Exact same thing happened to my 3003WLMi. I disconnected all power and let it cool down. reinserted battery and a/c. same thing happening. then I noticed battery charge light flickering funny, so I rebooted with the battery disconnected and all worked fine. although I can only use it with a/c power. I ordered new 4400mAh battery.... so to sum up, get that faulty oem battery off your machine a maybe should be ok.

I got the CD to play by downloading Winamp. Still haven't gotten DVD "no compatible decoder" error to go away.
