As for my question, recently an empty A4 folder fell on my AF1, onto the ":" key, key was destroyed, but I didn't mind, replacement keyboards are dirt cheap. The problem is in fact with the right hand peripheral board, which controls the 2 USB's, Memory card reader, audio ports, wifi, power and charge lights. It has completely stopped working, i can press down (quite hard) on the keyboard in the area where the folder hit, and the lights begin working, but as soon as as the pressure is released, it stops working again.
Very odd, sending it off to acer support soon, just a pain in the neck, just thought i would mention it, see if anyone has any ideas?
thanks, kris. -
I have the FO200-1799
Everywhere I look I only see that 4GB is max. Is yours the same model? does the 6400 give you any gain over the 5300? -
Got excited yesterday when the Acer Updater was trying to push the driver for the Acer DynaVivid Graphics Dock.

Yesterday I was able to upgrade my Ferrari One's CPU to an L510 that I was able to get hold of from a brand new laptop (bought it specifically for that purpose). Opened the new one, took out the L510, replaced it with a TL-56 and then put the L510 to the Ferrari and it just worked right from the start. I can post some pics if anyone's interested.
The model I used to get the processor was the Acer AS5538-1350 from The Source. They're making them an online model only. Sold it to my ex girlfriend after -
please post pics as it sounds quite interesting

Acer Ferrari One (FO200) + Amilo graphics booster = Driver nightmare
Please you guys and gals your pretty much my last hope of getting this thing working, I've tried using the VGA Driver (Acer DynaVivid Graphics Dock) 8.631.1 100.5 MB 2009/10/15. As has been suggested on websites and it will allow the laptop to trigger the XGP device but only externally.
It doesn't show the XGP Technology tab in the catalyst control centre for me to use it on the internal screen.
So which drivers should I be using to try and do this? -
Having problems playing back WMV9 and WMV VC1 files in windows 7 tried stock and latest drivers, but hitting 100% cpu load and choppy playback, even on 720P/6mbps stream, funny thing is 1080P VC1 @ 30mb/s in .mkv container plays back fine, any ideas?..
Ati and WMV don't seem to play nice, use to have this problem in desktops to with ati graphics... -
upgraded L310 to TL-58 and set it to run 1,8GHz - 0.9250Volt @ full load, 800MHz - 0.7250Volt @ idle with RMClock.
tested it with intel burn test, topped @ 85°C (1,8GHz @ 0.9250Volt) and
idles @ around 50°C.
stressed it @ the maximum multiplier 9.5X (1,9GHz) @ 0.9500Volt and got over 90°C so i pushed it back to 9X multiplier. -
can I change l310 to P920? The latest 4 cores one

Anyone could find the Dynavivid one?

My Acer F1 FO200 is equipped w/the Atheros Ar5b93 Single band WLAN. I haven't had it opened up in a while...
is it possible to upgrade to a dual band card? (2.4 / 5Ghz)
Anyone have any suggestions on that?
While I'm at it I've seen TL56 - TL60 CPU put in place. what seems to be the top end what will perform OK w/moderate heat generated given the FO200 cooling system?
Thank you Very much! -
Hi majorwedgy I am late for the discussion but i just fit a TK42 on my FO and have same problem 1.2...how do you manage to have it run correctely?please help.
-
will reply in the other thread.....
As for P series cpu - NOOOOO it will not work, heat for one reason, diff socket for 2
Best cpu for this machine would be the L510 because would mean no messing with utilities etc to get it workin. -

Does anyone know a utility that could control the fans of the Ferrari One? Speed Fan and AMD Fusion cannot detect the fan due to the nature of the Acer BIOS. The AA1 utility is able to turn on the fan but not control the speed;
My Ferrari One with the L510 CPU seems to overheat when playing graphic intensive movies - the temperature goes up to 90C and then the notebook shuts down, but the fan is never on full speed (actually always on low) so I wanted to somehow control that and bring it up to its max speed when watching movies.
Right now the makeshift is to use AMD Fusion and bring the CPU to power saver mode, making the processors run at 800mhz when watching.
Oops. I completely forgot to post the pics a few months back.. well here they are -Attached Files:

I posted a thread a few days ago asking for any SSD recommendations for the Ferrari One 200.
Didn't get any replies ...
Seems like a good upgrade to me ... performance increase, less heat, increased battery life, less noise.
has anyone fitted an SSD to the Ferrari One 200 ? -
