and what diferences did you see in your acer after change the bios??
-
on your bios update folder you should have
BIOS.WPH, phlash.ini, PhlashLc.dll, PhlashNT.sys and Winphlash64.exe.
Do not forget to rename your update bios from BIOSMOD.WPH to BIOS.wph if it's not allready with that name. -
-
is givin me the same error.
-
whats your current bios version?
-
is the 3236.

winphlash
as always at your OWN RISK -
post after youve tried it
-
is give me error ate the same. i change the name i change the software what more can i do???
-
i think that i have read it on some forum that winphlash for 64 bits OS gives problems. Best thing i to do it in Dos. In this thread you find what your looking for.
Find post 64 and see how to make a bootable pen drive,
see the attached file phlash17. Download it and copy to pen drive, see details inside the zip. Copy Bios.wph to it, restart computer hit f12 and boot from pen drive.
Also is good to have a crisis disk prepared in case something goes wrong. Again in this thread you can find it.
Remember use it at your own risk, no one will be responsible if you damage your notebook when trying to update the bios.Attached Files:

i had the same problem with my laptop but i use game booster 2 which is a freeware, and seems to do the trick, although this is probably due to thermal throttling, monitor your cpu temp while playing games.

Hi guys,
For those who have problem "trusting" their modified BIOS image, please rebuild the modified BIOS image three to four time. Compared with each modified BIOS image. If all modified BIOS image is identical, it means it is successful.
Always examined the modified BIOS image with HEX editor. If at the beginning of the file start with 0xFF (a lot of them), the BIOS image might be buggy & it can bricked the notebook if you flashed it. Look at this case (post #213) for example.
It is normal for PBE to renamed the ROMs file to another name. When you modified even one file, the checksum will be different than the original. Because of this when repacking to BIOS image, it won't fit to it's original offset. When PBE rebuild the modified BIOS image, it will repack & compress all of the files to generate BIOS image. As I said in the manual, size is important. To maintain the original size, PBE will make several adjustment to the file(s) in the modified BIOS image.
There is another tool called Phoenix SLIC Tool at mydigitallife forum that can repack the modified BIOS image without changing any other files except the one we modified. Unfortunately, because of our mod use a lot of "space", most BIOS will unable to rebuild successfully using this tool. When we use two bytes (00 00) to unlocked hidden menu, to fit the file (in this case TEMPLAT0.ROM file) in it's original offset when repacking, the tool will need to change unused space (two bytes to be exact) to 0x00. I will not touch too deep about this tool. You will need to visit their forum for more information.
Good luck.
(P/S: Please follow forum rules when posting in this forum, for example no big picture embedded in the post. Use link instead. Do not use foul language in your post. It won't be tolerated.)
EDIT: I'm on holiday right now. So I'm not able to process any request right now. Also, please specify your specific request, such as Virtualization, SpeedStep, etc. Request like "please unlock all..." is not very easy to do. Please refer the manual (available at first post) to learn on how to locate hidden menu. You should know what are you asking for. For example, you should know what VT is for. -
hey, thanks for your input, kizwan. so are you saying that long as the bios is built properly, the renaming of modules is no problem??? if there are no errors in the log file, can i go ahead with updating it with the modified bios??
thanks again. -
-
will definately carry out the precautions you mentioned, my laptop can be recovered from a bad flash using a usb floppy drive according the service manual, but now ive got to find a floppy drive?!?!:s lol.
will post results and link to bios if it works.
thanks alots kizwan.
cheers -

Translated to English:- [Guida] Snow Leopard su Acer Aspire family (6930G-6935G-8930G ecc. ) -
Installed Snow Leopard Universal v3.6
Your notebook have Intel 4500MHD which is not fully supported. I believe this is why sleep doesn't work. -

Sorry for late reply. I already take a look your modified BIOS image. I noticed you use my first modified BIOS image for Aspire 5738G as a template/base. When comparing both modified BIOS image, I found that a lot of option rom different than original. OPROM0A.ROM, OPROM0B.ROM, OPROM06.ROM, OPROM07.ROM, OPROM08.ROM & OPROM09.ROM file is different compared to the original file. If you only modified OPROM06.ROM file to overclock your HD5650, only this file should be different than the original one. Please rebuild back the BIOS image (I recommend using my R2 BIOS image as a template/base) with your modified OPROM06.ROM file. Please rebuild three to four time (from scratch - just replace OPROM06.ROM file), compare every each modified BIOS images. If all of them identical, you got yourself successful build of BIOS image. Good luck. -
