Well i saw some benchmarks between the 6770m and the quaddro 2000m,and even tho,the quaddro 2000m is an under clocked GTX 460M but with 128bit DDR3 memmorys instead of 192bit GDDR5,is 5-10%faster on games!!To tell you the truth i like the quaddro 2000m better for better suport on drivers and for the Physx!

Give it a try, but... I don't think you'll be able to get it to run at full clocks.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It could well stick to 2d clocks due to a lack of bios support.
-
It depends on whether you have a valid MXM structure in the SBIOS.
-
@CROSSFIRE_GTI - I wont even consider it if the "improvement"* is 5-10%. You should worry about the drivers IF you manage to boot the damn thing and even then, as Meaker and niffcreature said, the clocks are coming onto scene. Seriously, call me a fan-boy, but in most, if not all, cases upgrading to ATi is far more hassle-free^ then to nVIDIA.
*Result varies from system to system.
^Not that there aren't problems at all, they're just less. -
Hi,
I have Acer 8920g with 9500M GS chip. What is the best card that i can update in my machine? I read about Ati 4650, does 4670 fit also?
Im also about to update T5750 CPU -> X9000 to get more performance.
Or should i update to a new laptop -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
If you can afford a new laptop it will give you more bang for your buck.
If you are interested in doing it yourself then you could look into the MSI barebones such as the 16F2. -
HI , all i would congrates myself for being throught the thread with you guys, but didnt post and niether was interested to upgrade as i am ocassinal gamer. as i have seen you guys busy with mods and upgrade stuff , but i was (smart + patient ) lollz, to let it go for the best result
now i have came to conclusion that i might consider buying between these three cards ati 6770m or firepro m5950 (cheap) and replaces 6770m's performance or quicker hassle and duty-free gts 250m from ebay .
btw my lappy is 5935g upgraded cpu from t6600 to t9600
ati 4570 is my current and was factory loaded -
I allready ordered X9000 cpu from ebay, so im interested in updating GPU also.
So whats the best card that i can get on my 8920g.? -

and i instal and his spare heatsink,on the card and i put it on my ACER 5739G and i use the power brick that came with my brothers CLEVO(they have the same 19volts and the same jack cord) but because it was a bigger card and my laptop dosent have room for it,i just insert it in the MXM slot and i left it just the way it was haging, and i dident bent it in...and i fired up the laptop and guess what...IT WORKED!!!It bout up ,and when i saw the ACER logo i said
!!!!!!and it load the windows ok,and then it was start searching for drivers..but it dident find any,so i unistal my NVIDIA 240M drivers and i instal the 460m ones from the NVIDIA site but still nothing the drivers dident recognize the card.So i think that the quaddro 2000M it use the same 460M chip it propably work with my ACER 5739G,BUT am i gona find any drivers for it?Or even a moded ones?

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
460M booted, had working drivers and ran 3d applications in my 7738G but would never enter 3d clocks. It would only ever stay at low power clocks.
-
@meaker ! buddy help !
i have ordered gts 250m it arrived today and i put it into my laptop , the first expression i got from it is black screen after windows flash screen goes.
what is wrong, driver? bios? or card itself? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It's tricky, if you are in AHCI mode you need to switch to dedicated only in the bios.
-
do i have to wait longer till it install generic driver availabe in windows or through update?
edite: do i have to download and extarct nvadia driver before plug it on? -
@maeker , did you have the display at first boot without driver installed? in my case i dont get to windows after the windows 7 initial flash screen and it never show shows welcome screen i wait for about couple of minutes even more than that but negative no response from the card , i am wondering if i have bought the wrong card since there was a custome thin paper sticker stating model and there is also written ASUS , have a look at it here

I had to really jiggle it around to finally get the drivers to install, have you tried starting in safe mode?
-
it doesnt goto windows in safe mode either , btw , i have just ressembled it back and took another look to make sure the description , and the first all was normal as the device id +model + whatever but at the end there stated "for lenovo lead free" similer is written
i have tried to boot it through safe mode but same thing black screen after drivers are loaded -
Is my bios is the latest ? V2.09 can somebody confirm it for me please?
-
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I think I used the latest OEM laptop video 2 go drivers. You have to get it booting in dedicated mode.
-
i am on it , just got to boot to windows now. man! this was harder than going to ware and snatching weaton off your enimy . since laptop2go drivers are unknown and dont know which one to install i installed latest from there , it tells me that some files are missing, downloaded latest from nvadia for gts250 tells me no compatible hardware found. Now i am going to give a try autodetect hope that work , as autodetect helps me alot on ati and i totally rely on it
Edit: autodetect reffers me to acer to download from there , how come
maeker i read somewhere in this thread where someone had driver problem with this model and i saw you were also onvolved in giving guides , and he managed to download by moding or doing something can you reffer me to that post please as i coudnt find it -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Sorry it's been so long and I have made so many in between I will have as much luck as you.
-
@maeker i have tried 3 different drivers none of them worked for me i tried 285.63 from nvadia and 290.53 from laptopvideo2go and also one more which was the first one found on laptop2go homepage in acer laptop list . can you tell me which drivers are compatible and which version did you use?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Like I said you should be using the OEM drivers (they are all listed nicely in the forums) find the latest with mobile OEM in the title.
-
i am unable to find a driver or install it no driver is working , it seems something wrong to me , i have never used invadia thingy in my any system for last 7 years . so its getting boring and frastrated . any help would be apreciated

please suggest me anything any idea you may have i am willing to try .
now the situation is that i cant get to windows its always stays black screen even many tries , please help -
Boot in safe mode to remove the current (broken) driver.
Then, get the Laptopvideo2go driver, but DO NOT use the modded inf.
Instead, find the card in Device Manager, and check the Hardware ID of the card. Look for the 4 hex digits after "&DEV_".
Open nvac.inf in Notepad. Search for the 4 hex digits found above. In any of the lines in the section "Devices.NTamd64.6.1" that contain the above 4 digits, delete "&SUBSYS_" and everything else till the end of the line.
Save the file, and install. -
-
No, the modded inf is a separate download.
-
I got the m5950 today. It installed and showed up as a 6770m. No problem with that. My problem is that it only came with gddr3 instead of gddr5. I've already contacted the website and now I just have to play the waiting game.

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
So to be clear, you have tried like I suggest there drivers:
v290.36 Windows 7/Vista 64bit | NVIDIA OEM Mobile - LaptopVideo2Go Forums
(which should be able to install without the modded inf)
and also the Acer drivers:

Hi all
I have a Acer 8735G and I would like to know if I could change the Geforce GT 240M N10P-GS 1GB DDR3-A2 MXM A 3.0 on nVidia Quadro 2000M 2GB DDR3 MXM A 3.0?

CROSSFIRE_GTI, thanks for the score to go by. The only scores I've seen are the ones on notebookcheck and I'm sure they are based on Core i series CPUs. I'll still need to adjust accordingly as my CPU is 400Mhz slower than yours.

12.37k with a 6770M (OCed) + Q9200 in 06 (this was at the standard 1280x1024, make sure if your display is 1366x768 you dont compare 1280x768 scores to default ones)
-
It ran at 1280x768. I received a score of 8483.

Why don't you use 3dmark vantage, its much more accurate.
...Too bad about the ddr3. I have a ddr5 card here but there is no proper LVDS output for built in laptop displays. I don't know what to do about this. -
I looked up the RAM chips' part number. It is samsung k4w1g1646e hc11, which is in fact a GDDR3 specification. I just e-mailed them back to let them know.

If the card is supported by Nibitor, potentially you can change the voltage AND clocks. So I think gtx 470m is the best Nvidia option for Acers that can fit the card...
I ordered a 5870 for my Gateway / Packard Bell (same manufacturer as Acer) but it has full space for type B MXM cards. All ATI cards can have voltage and clocks edited with RBE. -

In his previous e-mail, he had told me that they were suppose to be Hynix H5GQ1H24AFR T2C chips. So he knows already. He's actually seeming to be helpful so far.

thanks guys i have sucessfully intalled driver for gts 250m and love the performance even without OC it gives very decent performance. I ma totally conviced .
netroder@ thanks for that tweaking stuff it was the only solution for my problem
@maeker i downloaded and install the driver from laptop2go which you suggested , but it doesnt worked , display gone black and i can hear start up sound . however when i go back to 258.96 it does work and show me the screen .
what could be the problem with latest one? which is 290.36
I was able to install it by tweaking and removing subvendor last ids, but after it restarts it wouldnt show anything except for sound -
regarding overclocking i could only make it to core 500 shader 1200 and memory 1030 but laptop shuts down after 10 or 15 minutes . I couldnt read the temp at that time but one time i did alt + tab to see gpu-z and it was less than 80 . Is that because of poor paste @maeker ?
also the fan doesnt seems to be running at high speed and couldnt hear any force or solid sound from fan but heat . -
Apparently the LV2go modded infs are unusable - you are not the first person with this problem. Please report this on LV2go so they can fix it.
-
any one with the same card gts 250m or has anyone ever had this card could tell me what is the stable and performance overclocking values? have you happened to notice high temps or shut downs during game?
I am using thermal pad which i think is not the best solution , ordered arctive silver 5 and probably will get it day after tomorrw. -

Were my max clocks it seems. Have you tried loading the bios up on nibitor?
