ReadyBoost is no fair substitute for a RAM update, especially at today's prices.
Besides, once you've already got 2GB in your system, ReadyBoost does essentially nothing.

Dang, so I restart and my audio died again :(

Stupid software..now the driver has this "caution exclamation" point of thing on it!

    Man, I feel for you.
I have no idea what's going on anymore, so I would say to contact Acer Support and get their opinion.

I really don't want to throw that much money at them..

I'd much rather get an external sound card... this is dumb. Acer and Vista need to work to get this fixed..

I don't know if this is possible..but can the sound card be upgraded?

Nope - embedded on the motherboard. Your best bet would indeed be a USB or ExpressCard sound card.

Funny you should choose that one - my roomie uses that because the speakers on his Dell Inspiron 1300 burned out.
    It works for him!

So I installed Windows 7 onto my laptop and my audio is PERFECT now!

    I think it's Vista that's causing the problem :(

Hey, if Win7 works for you, go ahead.
I'm pretty sure we can confirm that it's a software issue in Vista.

Yes it is. Heads up for those that have this laptop..

    You can't dual boot :(

So make sure you don't go into msconfig and change boot processors to 2 or you're screwed lol..

    Win7 Ultimate is amazing!
