Is it VMware player version 1.0.9, as there are lots of products. If it is VMWare player 1.0.9, there a are newer versions available.
Also, when you say you get an error running memtest, what is it, what does the error say.

Sounds like it is probably VMWare player 1.0.9. This may not be ideal as VISTA support only came in at v2.0 I think (host and guest). Prior to v2.0 it might work but could be flaky. I assume you are using 1.0.9 as that is what your course has directed?
I am also confused as in an earlier post (#24) you said you had run the VISTA memory check with no problems. Is it now the case that you cannot? -
