Wonder if somebody check the battery issue with the new 3310 bios
-
No improvement whatsoever. Seems to be a hardware-related power issue.

New Bios released - may fix battery drain problem. Going to flash it tonight and check the drain over the weekend.

You won't regret it

Michael,
Do i understand that the BIOS update resolves the issue? BTW, I left the battery out of my 1810T for the past 10 days. Plugged it back today to see that the battery charge had dropped to 97% from full charge - which is still a respectable rate for a battery. Had I left it plugged into the laptop during those 10 idle days, it would have been completely drained by now. -
Hi,
Yes. I had a battery drain of 5% (of a full charge) a day. After the Bios update, I had my 1810TZ shut down and disconnected for three full days. No noticeable battery drain.
Go for the Bios update.

Yay! With the new bios, after 72 hours of being off I've only lost 5% charge. Before I was losing 5-6% per day.

Hi Everyone, can confirm same findings with new 3314 BIOS. Charge loss over 24h was 2% vs. 5-7% previously. This still is nowhere near perfect but a huge step in the right direction. For those of you who've never owned an Acer before, this issue seems to be there "by design", i.e. there seems to be a major design flaw in the power circuit which is common to many of the recent Acer netbooks & notebooks. I've owned an Aspire One A110 and D250, which both had the same drainage problem but Acer never bothered to release a fix to this date.

Please try this: Make sure the battery is 100% full. Shut down and unplug. Wait one day at least. Now simply plug the PSU in. The battery LED should switch from orange to blue within a few seconds. This is what I experience with my 1810TZ.

Is this excessive battery drain (while the laptop is TURNED OFF)?
