Hello, Yesterday i got the newest version with gtx 850m, but since i dont found a coresponding thread about it and constructionwise should be identical i post my question here...
I want to ask about the quality of cover plate with screen... When i unpacked mine the display seemed a bit deformed since there was a small gap between a left corner of cover and the base of notebook. After i opened the display i was shocked by the weak construction the whole cover deforming very easily... When i was removing the protective film from the frame around the screen at down the frame deformed too and pulled out from the screen, it is also mentioned in this review:

Review Acer Aspire V5-573G-54208G50aii Notebook - NotebookCheck.net Reviews
"Another critical point is the display or the display frame, respectively. Ex-works it is covered with a protective film. While we removed that film, a part of the display frame separated from the display and we could pull it forwards by around 1 centimeter (~0.4 inches). We cannot say if other devices have the same problem. "

Also the backlight of the screen is seen on a black/dark background... low light is seen coming under frame at a right down corner and whole lower part of the screen...

Are these issues general with this model or they are specific just to some pieces?
    Thank you

The display frame is not very solid, it's just the way they are unfortunately. Not really an issue if you open it with your fingers in the middle of the frame (not on either the left or right side). Pulling the bezel from the frame is however, not normal at all! Didn't happen on mine at least.

Anyway, as much as I like my 573G (fast, lightweight and good looking), I've decided to sell it. I was unfortunate to recieve one with an ALPS touchpad. This thing is unusable.... Scrolling sucks, zooming sucks, tracking sucks... It just plain sucks and no other driver other than the one on Acer's website works. I will return to a MacBook Pro very soon as I kinda miss OS X having used that for years in the past.

Same happened to my V5-573G with GTX850M, there is also quite a bit of backlight bleed from where the bezel separated from the screen panel, if you push the bezel against the panel the bleed is reduced. I can live with it, its not noticeable in everyday use.

While there are one version of full-HD V5-573G available in my market the 850M version seems to be priced higher than last years models,
the sweet spot this model used to have being the lowest priced real IPS screen has gone when Acer pushes worthless V5-561 and V3 models with TN screens instead,
so for the price you can probably find good alternatives from other vendors.

That said I got a good price on the V7-582PG which is essentially the same computer but with a glossy touchscreen.
It's a tiny bit heavier due to the glass, but on the positive side you get a screen without plastic bezel which were the latest complains here.
In the Acer lottery I got Intel Wifi, Synaptic touchpad and no ticking right fan (perhaps bios starts the fan at a higher speed now, more blow but less annoying)
I also had to reinstall the system on an SSD and add memory - so unless you get a much better price than competitive models you should ask yourself if it's worth the hazzle.

It seems to me like this hardware is getting phased out after several upgrades,
too bad that Acer put their bets on an all-plastic nitro chassis instead of putting the effort into some higher-quality components and construction that could last as many years as V5.
The mSata sold me this computer, I can't figure out why the manufacturers don't make a quality chassis once and have modular components inside,
for example you could easily fit dual raid ssd's in the place of one 2,5" disk and aim for both low end and the highest.
