Yes- technically that's true. Although i.e. HD5650 and GTS250 ma be equally fast, HD5650 would OC more and emit less heat (which amounts to the same thing) so it would be faster- therefore it's possible that OCed HD4650 would equal GTS 250 in terms of performance.

I did cheat a bit and set the default voltage on the 4650 to 1.2v instead of 1.1v

Is there any other model which is similar to 5739G? 15,6 LED is a must.

MahmoudDewy Gaming Laptops Master Race!
hmm ... depends on ur needs ... what kind of GPU are we talking about here (is MXM a must & something >240GT is a must too ?) ... since CPU & ram isn't your problem atm. that can be ignored
-
I think this laptop, 5739G + Quad Core CPU + 8GB RAM + SSD + GTS 250M is going to be awesome! -
Any buy/sell offers should be made via PM or BST forum.
Let's keep the rest of the forum strictly technical. -

You cant put a quad in the 5739g, its dual core only.
I still don't see why you are set on a 250M, a 6770 will cost you less and be twice as fast.
T9900 + 6770 + 8GB of ram + SSD would be very nice. -
I'm asuming that can be sloved with a BIOS mod, as I could put a Quad core in my ASUS, with a BIOS mod. Chipset is PM45 Express, which is available to take the Quad Core.

Well good luck, would certainly be interested in the results and cooling it.
-
The current problem is to ship that laptop from US to Norway. You can wish me good luck on that, cooling a quad would be nothing beside that...
-
You guys want a update?
The payment got cleared and the laptop is on it's way to Norway now! It will be here friday before 6pm, FedEx say...
And I did read a bit of this thread just before this post Meaker, the thing with the Quad Core is that I allready bought it because I was planning to use it with my Qomsio. But now, since my Qosmio needs a bunch of new parts and I'm looking for something more travle-friendly I did go for this model. I will test the Quad core in this laptop, if it does work, I'll keep it. If 5739G refuses the CPU even with a BIOS mod, I get random shutdowns or anything like that, I'll simply return the CPU and buy a T9900. I do have a T9600. But I really want to keep my HP (signature) running as I have done so much for it and simply do like it.
However, I'm not into any games at the moment, so I don't know if I'll upgrade the GPU before end of this summer. My hope is that nVidia is coming up with a MXM card, 5739G competable so I can go for anything better then GTS 250M. (don't you dare say 6770!)
Beside this, I'll check if the laptop work as it should there is a bunch of things to upgrade as; Wifi card (6300 is a must), SSD, RAM and I'll check if I can swap over the bluray read from my other HP. I'm also looking in for Chopper mod. I'll have to take a look between the GPU and heatsink before that. If I ever is going to do that, I'll create a own therad about it and continue it from there.... -

6750m!
Anyway, the new GPUs could be interesting, though its pot luck if there will be an MXM-A card. -
been a cool minute since the last time i was on
my wife has this laptop and it's been doing good, and i just happened to take it apart last night to replace the broken lcd. Meaker, is that 6770 mxm type A or III? are they backwards compatible? Good info here, guys!

I OWN the 5739G lol. Tunay we should create a owners club thread lol. 6770M ftw btw. I also ordered E8435 3.06Ghz 6M l2. Its basically a locked version of x9100 and same as t9900 but has a tdp of 45 watts I think. Paired with 6770M and E8435 I think I have got a BEAST inside my 5739G. Saving money for a desktop build now.
Got the E8435 for $85 btw. t9900 is like over 200
6770m is MXM A. BEST CARD EVeR(for now) -
-
nice info on 8435! just looked up the t9900 and it's almost 200 or over. did you already buy 6770?
-
Yes I already bought the 6770m.
