Acer Aspire 8940g Windows 10 fully working on newest Nvidia driver with K2100M taken from dell computer. Additionally upgraded procesor for i7-940XM with no problems. Added 6 small copper radiators. 3 for Gpu, 3 for CPU on top where the chips are. For K2100M I used both side sink plates from amd 4670 card.
SlimDrivers updated all drivers with success.

Half a year it took with me.

    Hi
This one is for 8935g 45W TPD or 8949- but without "g" (was something like this). Don't buy it. Look how is 8940g, especially copper pipe-is under long gray metal element.

Sorry to Necro an old thread but I picked a 8935g off ebay last month

So far I have only upgraded the gpu from a 4670 to a firepro M4000 shows as 7700m series (Blue PCB taken from a M4700 'Dell bios'),
As stated in this thread it was a simple plug and play now I am just waiting on a Q9100 from HongKong as my 8935g shipped with a Q9000
I was thinking of going for a QX9300 however spunking £50 for a cpu that might not work is something I might try only if the Q9100 works.

I shall post with futher updates just a quick Q. Does anyone know where I can source the TV-b tuner and internal antenna cable/external jack port?

    cheers

I know this is kinda old thread, but... sience Walter has been able to upgrade to Nvidia k2100M and is working, i would like to upgrade from ATI Firepro M4000 to the new AMD Firepro W7170M.

Sience this card is MXM Type b i have seen that there is enough room in the Acer 8940g to fit and MXM Type b Card. Do you guys think this will work ? It has the Dell Bios soldered on it...

    Hi
You will need to cut any plastic pegs or corner of speaker. Then will be fit. I had in 8935g Ati 5870 (?) in format B.

    Hi
It looks little bit hard, but possible. I bought 2 cards. One of them was from Hp and didn't work. But another one was from Dell laptop and works fine with no additional bios job.
No, I can not overwrite BIOS. I did it far time ago and don't feel comfortable with this procedure.

There's no need to overwrite anything on your end. You can save the VBIOS using GPU-Z. All i want is to try flashing that Dell bios that worked for you.. Btw how did u manage to get passed the white screen on windows boot? I'm having the same issue with no luck
