Did you get the BSODs debugged from that guy. If you have a Retail version of windows, you could mail MS the minidumps, and they could help you.

Or, I'll see if I can upload the debuglogs tonight so that others, and myself can have a look at it. I ran a small debug earlier when I posted and all I got was H/W faults.

PS. I've been busy with OCing, college and birdies....

h/w fault ? that's what it comes up when i google the error codes on the blue screens ...but the specific is vague !

have new hard drive , tested ram , so presume all that is left is motherboard or dvd .

    another weird occurance ..

twice now yesterday and today , after working fine for ages , I switched off , turned back on about an hour later and couldn't get past acer screen ...just went black with cursor in top left hand corner of screen ! eventually got it to boot form xp cd for repair , but when hit 'enter' after 'password' I just get the c:/windows !!! If I type in 'fixboot' ..it writes new and then powers up all ok !

does this throw any more light on the problem ?? Thinking of an advent4211 netbook , but want to fix this too !
