So the arrangement is heatsink---gpu---cpu?
I just found out the msata ssd runs very warm (60C), and I guess the heat comes from the cpu which I think is next to it
60 C is ok for a ssd I know but certainly not very healthy, as I use it as boot drive I am worry it will suddenly die and I'll lose everything![]()
Can anyone confirm the module next to it is cpu?
If it is, I may persist to find a way to undervolt the cpu as I failed to do so with xtu (says cannot apply the voltage after reboot)
thanks in advance![]()

Nop, it's not near the cpu, it's under the dvd I think below it's the normal had, here is a pic

So this thing(circled) is not the cpu?
You may have misunderstood my question.....I am not sure what the module is rather than the location of the msata
but anyway thanks for reply -
Ohhhh I understand now what are you talking about
, maybe you're right, the service manual doesnt specify how its build, this is the best picture I can find, but I believe from the form factor its --- CPU ---- GPU, because in the middle are 4 screws holding the CPU (I suppose), and the other 3 are disperse, but not holding anything just maintaning the heatsink in place, since the GPU its soldered to the MoBO doesnt need it to hold anything, so in theory what its making to warm the SSD its the GPU
Lets hope someone can answer this better
By the way what program do you use to see the SSD temperature? either AIDA or HDDguardian were unable to give me that information

Both CPUID hwmonitor and HWiNFO64 are able to show the ssd temperature...
if yours doesn't show up, it can be the case that your ssd lacks the sensor module..(I guess)
I believe the arrangement is fan---gpu---cpu
while I was browsing (not gaming), the integrated gpu should be in use and the nvidia gpu should be idle
But when i touched near the circled module it was burning hot...so I think it's the cpu
the 4 screws you mentioned are only for holding the heatpipe and copper plate(or whatever it's called) in place and the cpu is held with a single torx screw in it's special socket -
CptXabaras Overclocked, Overvolted, Liquid Cooled
2 heat pipes goes to the CPU, and it cools down also the chipset i believe. the GPU has a third heat pipe and is the closest one to the fan (i may be mistaken, but i think it is so, GPU has also the memory modules around it
[Talking about the AW14] Is the module near msata port the cpu?
