Given my recent success with an IPS panel in my m11x I was wondering if anyone had tried or had any interest in retro fitting a 1080p panel into a M14x R1 or R2. Was thinking maybe the new 14's panel might work if we knew the screen part number.

This is the part number you are looking for: 07KMY - LCD Assy FHD (1920 x 1080)

    I don't think that'll work though, the AW14 was completely re-designed.

Yeah I know the full assembly wont work - was thinking more remove the old screen from inside the lid and replace it with a 1080p panel.

Ok So I found the 1600x900 screen part number is LG LP140WD2(TL)(B1) which is an LVDS 2 ch 6 bit screen with the LVDS-40P2C6B-010A pin layout. Now off to see if they do an equivalent 1920x1080 ips screen!

Did you ever find any luck with the 1080p screen? Also, I don't really think it'd be worth it... the 650m was designed to run games at laptop resolutions of about 1366x768 or 1600x900, if you're gaming it's going to bring down your performance. If you use it otherwise (movies, etc, as I know there's a Blu-Ray drive addon), I'm curious to see how this works out.
