    8Gb RAM @1600Mhz with i7 2630qm

    can i use 1600mhz 8gb RAm with the i7 2630qm processor. there has been a lot o confusions about it. wil the processor utilize the full 1600 mhz or use only 1333mhz. is it worth purchasing the 1600 mhz memory for this processor

    I have 8GB installed with my 2630, i just went into bios and set the dram speed to 1600. Been working perfectly for 5 months now.

    by default, the 2630qm uses ram at 1333 mhz. You have to change it in the bios to use 1600mhz.

    I Upgraded to Kingston HyperX 8GB today. Full 1600Mhz show on CPU-z and in Bios. 7.9 WEI Score and I'm on the i7 2630qm :)

    I haven't heard anything wrong with 8GB 1600 MhZ ram....
