    Hello guys,

    I'm new to this forum and I just signed myself here because of the following issue;
I really hope that someone can help me because I searched Google, this site and the official forum but nothing worked.

While I'm playing games on battery my M14x suddenly shuts down (e.g. Bioshock Infinite, DMC).
(After about 7-20 minutes of gameplay)

    Information:
    -M14x R2 Win8 64-bit (2 months old)
    -Battery health checked (seems good)
    -BIOS A11 updated
-Usage of cool pad (I at least think its no overheating issue)
-Tried the "partial fix" where you turn down cpu clock to 75% on battery and turning down refresh rate to 40Hz
-All other settings are pretty much default

Alienware is coming out with a BIOS update that should fix this issue, I have the exact same problem.

So the next update, probably A12, will fix the issue.
Is DELL updating frequently and when do you think the update could get released?
    Thanks anyway.

When I was on the phone with Dell the lady said there was no ETA on the update.

It's true, we are currently waiting on a BIOS update. Sorry about the inconveniences.
I have no ETA yet, in the meantime try gaming with the adapter plugged in or try this.

I already tried this but it didn't work for me, would it change something if I set my CPU to maybe 50% while on battery (in the windows energy settings) ?

Where can I stay tuned, so that I know when I'll be able to update ?

    Thanks anyway :)

I was sent a new battery, and my laptop still shuts off while gaming on battery.

The battery isn't the problem. Replacements won't fix it. We will create a new thread as soon as we get the updated BIOS with the fix.
