I thought I would ask you guys this question since you are more helpful than calling Alienware support - I was having problems with my Alienware USB 3.0 host controller; constantly getting the device to drop when connecting a usb mouse and usb 3.0 adapter harddrive. I noticed it happened when I connected both devices at the same time. AW troubleshooted the issue, reinstalled the host controller, everything seemed to work when just connecting the mouse. I then connected the usb 3.0 adapter at the same time and it worked until I booted up the next night and got the BSOD. I was frustrated and called AW which issued me a RMA thinking it could be a faulty logic board. However, last night I did a Google search and found a ton of manufacturers complaining about the same exact issue as me and about the exact usb 3.0 driver. I decided to restore using AlienwareRespawn and everything seems to be working perfectly so far as long as I do not connect a HD and mouse to both usb 3.0 ports (I hope!).

My question to you smart folks is since this problem seems to only be affecting me with my 2 week old brand new AW, does this sound like a faulty logic board or just a driver conflict issue? Considering that a restore seems to have fixed it, what do you think? (just asking so I do not have to return it since I love my Alienware!)
