Greetings all, I'm currently experiencing a problem with the Aw 14's display. I experienced a BSOD last week (DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE) and when my laptop rebooted, after displaying the Alienware boot screen, the display turns off. I've updated all the graphics and display drivers with no luck. Various reboots and a system restore failed to fix the problem as well. If I plug in an external display it sometimes will recognize the display and broadcast an image to it, but only about half the time. After closing the lid once, the laptop's display powered on, but after a restart the display goes back to turning off just after boot. Closing the lid and opening it no longer yields a similar result.

It's worth mentioning the original display was replaced about two weeks by Dell under warranty after displaying some strange pixel artifacts across the width and height of the display.

Might be related or not, but over the past 3 or so months I've been experiencing the BSOD in the first paragraph that occurs every second day on average. No particular program seems to be causing the crash, and to my knowledge all my drivers have been updated to their latest stable versions.

I appreciate the help in advance guys.

It could be a problem with the motherboard, I would recommend you to send it to our depot to have it checked. If you would like to do that feel free to e-mail [email protected]. We'll help you out!
