Hey everyone this is my first time posting on this site, long time lurker!

Ive recently purchased a brand new Alienware 14 from dell and im having a slight issues with speakers hooked up to my laptop. When i hook up my my 2.1 Speaker system to the headphone jack on my laptop (middle port) everything works perfect, but when i turn off my computer or wake up from sleep, it sounds as if its not outputing the sound properly and there is no bass, when i unhook the speakers and plug it right back in it fixes the issue, but this isnt right, and shouldn't be like this, what would be the fix for this?

You should be plugging them into the port nearest you (when facing the laptop). There should be three total.

If that doesn't change anything, attempt to reinstall the audio driver. If that still does not do anything, attempt a system restore using AlienRespawn (Start -> All Programs -> Alienware -> AlienRespawn). If it's still an issue after all of that, it may be a faulty/malfunctioning audio card. In this case, you would need to contact Alienware Technical Support.

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) the audio is soldered to the motherboard. So, there will likely be two options on the table, the latter more likely of the two: 1) they send you a new system, or 2) they send a technician out to replace the motherboard and basically rebuild your entire system in the process, which isn't nearly as scary as it sounds.

Does it only happen with those speakers?
