Alienware 14 subwoofer not working ?? audio problems ?

Hi i need help does anyone know how to test on the alienware 14 if the subwoofer is working ??? when i first bought it sound would vibrate and come from under the keypad now there is no sound only the speakers near the screen work ??
i installed the realtek sound drivers and nothing works is this a hardware issue ???

when i changed it too 5.1 surround sound no sound came through just noise and no voices?? it only works on stereo

It's a pretty old issue that hasn't been addressed. A lot of people claim it works but it's just extremely low/quiet.

After reading through that thread, there's not really much to do about it.

 

Even on my Alienware 18, no matter what I do, there is slightly some bass, I consider this laptop to be without a subwoofer

 

It could also be that the woofer is completely dead. If it's like that send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we can try replacing it to see if it's that.

 

Just before you do that, try disabling Dolby Digital (turn it off from the taskbar) then play an MP3 which has bass and see if there is a difference.

The buggy Dolby Digital once turned off, unleashes the full bass for me
