Alienware M14X R1 Fan Upgrade (R2?)

Just need to ask if anyone has tested this before.

Before I got my 18, I used to use my old M14X R1, today I want to revive it, but the big issue with it is overheating.

Even though I use Hwinfo to turn the fan speed to Maximum, the CPU still hits 90 C everytime when the load is at least 30% which is kinda ridiculous

I got the heatsink replaced twice as well as the fan. And have also re applied thermal paste

Does anyone happen to know if the Alienware M14X R2's fan of 10.4CFM (Current one: 2CFM) is able to fit and run in the R1?

Plus, I just need to know if anyone who owns an R1, has faced the similar issue

I have the same model as you but I have never had 90c temps after cleaning out my fan or anything, and I never replaced my thermal paste either. I do not know if the r2 fan can go in the r1, sadly.

I've never seen or heard an issue like yours before.. Have you tried a cooling pad perhaps? I like those on mine because of how the fan is spread on the whole bottom and hits the hottest part on mine(the center)

Also, I advise you try to use speedfan to increase your fan speed, I've tried HWinfo and it didn't help me because my fan would always go back down to normal speed. I don't know if you have that same issue? If you try speedfan though, you need to enable the option for dell notebooks to be supported and then it will work.

Which CPU do you have? Is it possible for you to check if the heatsink is getting hot only at the cpu end or is the pipe hot all the way down? The pipe does contain a liquid and if there is a small break/leak in it then it will not transmit heat efficiently down to the fan and as such the cooling performance would be compromised.
