YouTube - M14x problem
Ok so this video you can hear and see my problem.. any idea why it does this on almost every boot up ?
the little message down the bottom says :
intel wifi adapter is now available
thanks for any help
-
Something is getting a bit stuck when it's initialised for the first time upon boot up. If you're getting something with your WiFi adapter I'd reinstall your drivers maybe (and for your sound as well, obviously).
-
hi bud, that seems to be that the wifi drivers are initialising give or take the same time as something else that is causing a bit of delay.
have you got the latest chipset drivers installed?
Also with you using an ssd, and its speed in booting, a load of drivers are loading at the same time and are contending.
I have an ssd (vertex 2) and dont have the same problem but i have my install passworded.
Maybe if you disable the intel myfi. as its not needed unless you want to offer your network services to other users on wifi, which is very unlikely. -
i have set a password before and it still got the buzzing noise but i will try and reinstall the wifi driver. but i dont think i will install sound driver gain though because i had this probelm before i installed sound driver and i have it after i installed the sound driver. But if you think i should still reinstall sound driver just post again
but i swear i had this buzzing noise when the system first arrived before i did my mods
thanks for the replies though i appreciate it guys ! -
It is intel My wifi, you are missing some key words here mate
Basically ,it is the idea of Mifi and Android/iOS personal hotspot, enabling your other devices nearby to share network via wifi generated by your m14x
No idea about the buzzing lag noise though, mine is perfect with 160GB x25-m g2 -
so that message is normal ? i just have to move my android phone away from the laptop ?
-
yup, the message is normal and can be ignored in settings. or click on the bubble will prevent it popping up in future if i remembered correctly
-
ok thanks, the noise i was getting seems to be getting less frequent now.. havent heard it for a while now..
Still phoning up dell though and asking for a replacement -
A good way to get yours replaced though, most probably they'll replace the HDD.
If its a replacement case, then you'll have to wait for another month.
