Just finished playing BF3 and noticed my ALIENWARE logo isn't lighting up.

It's just a dark red colour. What's wrong with it?

I've tried changing the colours of it, but to no avail.

    help please. Thanks.

Try restart the AlienFX by pressing the Fn+PRT SCRN. It work for me most of the time, but if that doesnt work, then I'll do a reinstall of the command centre, but if you do that, DO NOT install from the M14x resource DVD because that would corrupt your keyboard as it is not compatible with the new BIOS version, so do instead download from the Dell website and install.

Hi, I can't seem to find a link to download.. So could you link me?

Also, the light just stays dark now. Maybe it's dead.

Click on start and type AlienFX controller . Press enter. Now click on that arrow in taskbar near the clock and you will see a small alienhead with either green or red eyes.
if eyes are red, right click on the alien head and click" Go Light".

If eyes are green, right click on alien head> Go dark. and right click again>Go light.

    See if this works?

If you mean the Command Centre (AlienFX controller is part of it), follow this link to Dell Driver and Download to download the Command Centre

This is the same thing if you just press FN + PRT SCRN, because the PRT SCRN Function is to turn the AlienFX on or off.

I am aware of that. but the thing is that AlienFX controller is a separate program then alien OSD. So even if you press FN + PRT SCRN and your AlienFX controller isnt on, you wont be able to toggle alienfx on/off.

right click on that alien head and click exit. now try FN + PRT SCRN. It wont work ;)

sometimes alienfx controller fails to load at windows boot so you can just manually start the program and enjoy the alienfx
