My alienware m14x is struggling to run deus human revolution on almost everything off/low. Anybody know the problem? im using the dedicated graphics card btw not the intel. I also reserved battlefield 3 and i would like to know if i can actually run it :X i tried the site canyourunit but it only detects my intel not the dedicated. any help would be appreciated. i also have the i5 processor and not the i7. Im not a computer guy so i dont know if its a big difference or not.

Yeah, you're not running the dedicated graphics. I'm running high in deus ex. Try right clicking on the executable and choose run with Nvidia graphics.
-
Yeah, right click on the desk top, and go into the Nvidia control panel OP.
You should see a list of programs in there, and make sure you have the dedicated GPU (GT555m) selected for the games you want.
You could even test it out by downloading GPU-z and load it up,, and watch what the core clock and memory load% are at on the gt555m, if they are not full blast, (with high performance and plugged in), your def. not using the dedicated card. -
Im running the dedicated graphics. i even overclocked it . http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/11/09/05/eec.png my gpu.
i also put it on high performance. -
i already did all the things both of you said. I still get around 50 frames with lots of frame drops with fraps on. never tried fraps off. i have almost everything off.

im in same boat. theres a thread about the game stuttering on pc version. think i have the link... hold on...
edit: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=121283
we are not alone. it keeps stuttering for me. even worse is i lowered EVERYTHING. and still stutter. ive helped a tiny bit by increasing pre rendered frames in nvidia control panel from 3 to 8.
if you have any luck with better results post back -
Are you on battery or connected to AC ? Because you can't game on battery.
( I mean you can't play that kind of demanding games ) -
Always on battery never tried not on battery
-
I noticed it was studdering less when i have shadows off but it still DROPS so many times
-
read that link mate. everyone is suffering. it mainly happens when im walking around detroit hub. its driving me insane.
everyone on that link says its the games code or something like that -
Plug your machine in. It doesn't run anywhere close to it's potential on battery. Your GPU is HEAVILY underclocked on battery.
-
Run with dedicated.
-
I was told that depending on which BIOS you have you can game on Batter without any performance diffrence.
-
CORRECTION SORRY IM NEVER ON BATTERY always ON the battery with the plug
-
If youve read the previous posts. im on dedicated its apparently the game that has issues
-
i dont know what your problem is but i run this game on all high, no drops in fps at all. im not even overclocked
-
can you post your control panel settings please. this game just stutters for me when im in the detroit hub
-
I get some stuttering once in a while (about once ever 3-4 hours) other than that I play high everything although I did have issues with it crashing when I had DirectX11 on. Once I turned that off, it worked wonders.
