hi i just got this alienware off my friend he needed some money so i bought it off him. he said his had it for a year so its in pretty good condition. he threw the cds away or something just got the laptop and charger no manual.

i turned it on and a window pops up saying that Microsoft.Net framework NGEN error continue or retry and i hit continue so i wouldnt be stuck with another window. so i went online and browsed a few forums and updated it and miraculously its gone then when i turned it off the other day after playing Counterstrike you know testing the graphics of alienware and shut it down to hit the sack. tried turning it back on in the morning and it just beeped like 8 beeps /sec for a good 20minutes - 30 display was off but keyboard light was on .
so i borrowed my brothers computer and found a way to reset take the battery out (wells in this care i just let it beeped until it couldnt beep no more and hold the power button down for 10sec and let it shut down and plug it in and it turned on it seems okay no error window on start up.

So dont really know what happened is it the microsoft.net framework i mucked around with or is it the laptop? is there a way for me to factory reset the alienware cause i cant system recovery dont think my friend ever backed up a recovery. just want to make sure that the laptop wont explode on me .
could you please help me? thanks heaps in advance =]
