So I purchased the 256 GB SSD and with all the games on this I am down to 69 GB. Is this computer likely to run smoother with more free space like the standard 7200 rpm disk drives? Or can I fill this up to only 20 GB free space and expect the same fast performance?

Also, does anyone know if we will be able to upgrade our m14x's with the newer, larger SSD's once they are released?

For SSDs I try to keep at least 7-10 GB free on the Windows partition at all times. I'm actually running out of space too, mostly due to all the games I have ... Got like 30 GB free now lol

And any 2.5" SATA drive would work.

Your SSD will still outperform an HDD. The general rule is to have roughly 30% free or more on your SSD if you want optimal performance. It will still be pretty damn fast though even as you pass that mark.

There are multiple SSDs over the 500GB mark. Any of those will work but it's very costly at the moment.
